POPS Fernandez is now in good terms with ex-boyfriend Jomari Yllana. "Nagkita na kami’t nagkausap, we’re okay," she says. "He even asked me to join a benefit show in Dagupan, ‘di lang ako puede. But I supported him sa launching ng Channel V nila and he even greeted me on my birthday last month."
Last year, Jom was the producer of her Valentine concert with Martin Nievera. Now, her show with Martin at SMX MOA, "One Amore Time," will be up against Jom’s own Valentine show with Kuh Ledesma at Mandarin.
"Oo nga, singer na rin siya after ‘Celebrity Duets,’" she says. "Okay lang. The market is big for all of us who’ll have Valentine shows."
Jom’s business partner, Ronald Singson, is being linked to Lovi Poe. What’s the real score between the two? "I see them together but I don’t ask personal questions about them," Jom says. "Nothing wrong if they’re dating kasi binata naman si Ronald. He’s not married to anyone."
Going back to Pops, she admits doing a kissing scene with Martin at Tagaytay in a VTR to be shown in their concert. "The producer, Mae Dolonius, wants to project us as mature performers doing sexier production numbers, including the VTR, so we agreed to do it."
Will they also do it live on stage?
"We’ll just let the moment tell us what to do," she says. "Bahala na."

How’s Ai Ai delas Alas’ new Greek BF whom she visited in Athens before Christmas?
"Hindi ko pa naman siya boyfriend," she says. "Chatmate pa lang. He’s 37 years old, guwapo. We met sa internet lang. We chat."
Someone quips: "Hubad kayo?"
"Tama, cybersex," she laughs. "Tapos, nag-eyeball kami sa Greece. Athlete siya, handball player."
How long did she stay there?
"Six days. Go na ‘ko, kasi life is short. ‘Pag ‘di ko pa ginawa, kelan pa?"
So something happened?
"Wala. Wholesome ako roon. Na-appreciate ko lang ang magagandang tanawin. Merong kissing, pero hanggang du’n lang kasi Filipina ako. Virgin pa."
How come she’s fond of foreigners? Didn’t she have a Venezuelan boyfriend before this?
"Sila ang fond of me, ‘no? Yes, may Venezuelan. But he’s too young for me. Twenty-five lang kaya ‘di nagtagal. Pero sobrang busy na ako ngayon kaya wala munang boys. Panay ang gala namin ni Kris (Aquino) as judges sa ‘Pilipinas Got Talent.’ Galing kaming Cebu, then go kami sa Cagayan de Oro."
So she and Kris are friends again after they had a tiff when she made a comment about James Yap during the Hope Centeno scandal?
"Yes, BFF na kami uli."
So what did she say to Kris about the James-Mayen issue?
"Ay, ayoko na uli mag-comment about James. I promised Kris, my lips are sealed kaya huwag nyo na ‘ko pilitin, ayoko."
What happened to her studies at Center for Culinary Arts?
"One year pa, bago ko matapos. E, naging super busy ako. My son Sancho, siya nagpatuloy. Ang tuition fee niya, P350,000 a year."
Aside from "Pilipinas Got Talent," she’ll soon tape a dramedy with Aga Muhlach.
"First teamup naman. Storycon pa lang, sinabi ko na wag akong liligawan, kasi nakakahiya naman kay Charlene (Gonzales.) I’m not a homewrecker," she said coyly.
She also has a Valentine show, "Ai Am Your Valentine," on February 14 at Manila Hotel’s Tent City with Pilita Corrales, Janno Gibbs, Rufa Mae Quinto, and Mark Bautista. Mother Lily Monteverde hosted a dinner to show her support to the vice presidential bid of Sen. Mar Roxas, whose wife, Korina Sanchez, was there by his side. "As the missus, I’ve been trained not to talk too much, but I really want to thank Mother Lily for her support," says Korina. "Mother, hindi ka namin bibiguin."
"Di ko bibigyan si Mother ng dahilan para magsisi na ine-endorse niya ko," adds Mar.
So how’s married life? "I’m very, very happy," says Sen. Mar. "The wedding was magical. It’s such a high point in my life. Tuwang-tuwa akong may isang Korina na tinanggap ako as her husband. From that day, it got better and better pa. I can’t describe how wonderful life is with her. May mga adjustment pa rin, but as whole we have a lot of fun and our foundation is love so kahit may rough patches, naaayos agad. One time na we had a misunderstanding, pagharap ko sa salamin sa banyo, may sulat siya roon saying ‘I may be pouting but I will always love you.’ I really recommend marriage very highly."
"Ako, enjoy na enjoy," says Korina. "Before, my life was just one deadline after another. Now, I can afford to wake up late. Slower ang pace ko. Palinis-linis ako ng bahay. I’m not even in a hurry to put on make up. I’m just here para sundin kung ano ang iutos niya."
They just came from a one-week honeymoon in Japan. May nabuo ba sila roon? "Wala pang nabuo, but we keep on trying, but as in life, it’s in the trying and the journey where the happiness is."
"One miracle at a time lang," says Korina. "’Yung kasal namin, sino ba ang mag-aakalang ikakasal pa ‘ko? Miracle na yun. So ‘yung anak saka na ‘yan."
Sen. Mar is happy that he continues to lead among the vice presidential candidates in the SWS surveys. "Big honor for me ang trust shown by our kababayans," he says. "I will not disappoint our countrymen."
As for Korina, she just topped the poll for the most trusted personality of 2009 with a rating of more than 50% plus. She and Mar really make a formidable tandem.
Jean and Jennica Garcia are grinning from ear to ear as their afternoon drama show, "Ina, Kasusuklaman Ba Kita?" is off to a good start getting high ratings on its first week. The fast-paced show directed by Maryo de los Reyes swiftly showed the hardships Alvina (Jean) and her three children with different dads, Rizzi (Jennica), Rossan (Iwa Moto) and Rav (Dion Ignacio), will face as a result of their unconventional family setup.
This is established at the school family day where Alvina had to juggle her time among her three children due to the absence of their dads and she had to defend them against those who tease them for having different last names. Jean Garcia gives a tour de force performance as Alvina and we won’t be surprised if she’d get an acting nomination for her acting here. "Ina, Kasusuklaman Ba Kita?" is shown right after "Kaya Kong Abutin ang Langit" that will end soon and will be replaced by "Gumapang Ka sa Lusak."
After Akihiro Sato, another Brazilian-Japanese model is trying local showbiz. Daniel Matsunaga, the leading man of KC Concepcion in a toothpaste commercial, will play Prince Nicolai from Europe, who’d figure in a love triangle with Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal. Daniel is as hunky as Aljur and his first scene shows him in the nude and Kris screams when she sees his naked body. "It’s part of the scene so I did it," says Daniel.
Someone says: "Kinilig talaga si Kris nang makita si Daniel kaya nagselos si Aljur kasi may prosthetic makeup siya sa show at pangit. Kailangan daw may nude scene din siya."
