-- Marian Rivera’

MARIAN Rivera laughs off the rumor that she and Dingdong Dantes broke up last Holy Week.

"Ano ba yan? Nang umamin kaming on na, gusto naman kaming mag-break," she laughs. "Hindi totoo ‘yan at imposibleng mangyari ‘yan. We’re shooting our movie sa Baguio and Sagada last week at kung problemado kami sa lovelife namin, it will show sa set at sa mga eksena namin sa pelikula. E, hayan nga, tawanan kami nang tawanan kapag magkasama."

Their director, Mark Reyes, plans to finish the principal photography of their rom-com, "You to Me Are Everything," as soon as possible as Marian and Dingdong will do shows abroad. Upon their return to Manila, they will start work on their new soap on GMA-7, "Endless Love."

Jessy Mendiola is one of the Star Magic talents who celebrated her birthday last March. She’s so fair and pretty, her aura reminiscent of Lucy Torres so ABS-CBN should really nurture her to be a big star. "Marami nga po nagsabi kamukha ko raw si Ms. Lucy but we’re not related and we’ve never met," she says. "But I’d really like to meet her someday kasi gandang-ganda talaga ako sa kanya."

She now plays Coco Martin’s love interest in "Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo." In real life, she’s only 17 while Coco is 25. She says she enjoys working with Coco, who’s an award-winning actor. "He’s really good in his craft and he shares his experiences in acting with me kaya may natutuhan ako working with him."

Have they done a love scene or kissing scene?

"No. Kung sakaling bibigyan kami ng ganung eksena, I’m not sure if I’d agree kasi I’ve never been kissed in real life. N.B.S.B. po ako, no boyfriend since birth, kaya sana, huwag na lang kami pagawin ng ganung eksena. But if ever, si Coco talaga ang magiging first kiss ko."

TV 5’s new morning show, "Sapul!," starts airing this morning f rom 5:30 to 7. It has three male hosts (Erwin Tulfo, Martin Andanar and Lourd de Veyra) and one female, newcomer Shawn Yao. TV 5 big wheel Paolo Bediones said Shawn came from out of the blue when they were looking for new talents. "When she sat down sa audition and interview, ‘Wow, we’re impressed.’ She has something. We’re looking for someone na kayang makipagbalitaktakan nang sabayan kina Erwin and we got someone who looks so ladylike pero barako rin pagdating sa arguing with sina Erwin."

Born on July 26, 1982, Shawn is half-Chinese and got a master of science degree in management from the University of Asia and the Pacific in 2005. As a student, she used to work part-time as photographer for kids in Picture Company. She also did print and TV ads modeling and does editing work for Uno Magazine. "My modeling agent told me to take the audition sa TV 5 and I said, bahala na. I’ve done sports and events coverage on TV but this is the first time I’d be hosting a live show. I was surprised nang ako ang mapili nila."

How is it working with Erwin, Martin and Lourd?

"Martin and Lourd are in their 30s and silang mga kuya ko. Si Erwin, I’d like to call him Tito out of respect kaya lang papatayin ako niyan, kaya kuya ko na rin siya. They’re all very supportive at maganda ang bonding naming tatlo sa show."

Someone says she looks like Paolo’s former girlfriend, Abby Cruz. But Paolo quickly says: "I’m part of TV 5’s management team at bawal ‘yang ganyan. Isa pa, may boyfriend na ‘yan."

Shawn admits she has a businessman boyfriend. "He’s glad I got this break."

GMA Artist Center’s talents remain very active not only on GMA shows but also its sister station, Q Channel 11. Long-running shows "The Sweet Life" and "Day Off" have held on to its hosts, Korean Grace Lee and comedian Mike "Pekto" Nacua, for several years now.

Grace Lee joined the team of "The Sweet Life" in March of 2007; and she’s been part of the show, which has been awarded Best Lifestyle Show in the 8th Gawad Tanglaw for three years. Pekto has been with "Day Off" since its inception, and it is one of the few remaining pioneer shows of Q still on the air.

During the height of popularity of Q’s now-defunct "Ka-Toque," GMAAC signed up two of the show’s chefs: Rosebud Benitez and Niño Logarta. And by working hand-in-hand with the Q network, their personal cooking shows were developed for the two. Chef Rosebud’s "Quickfire" has been airing for two years now, and has had three DVD releases already. Chef Niño has starred in two seasons of his kid-oriented cooking show "Daddylicious," before moving to his current sitcom-style cooking show "Sarap at Home."

Award-winning actress Iza Calzado already has a history with Q, previously hosting the now-defunct, but also award-winning, Public Affairs program "At Your Service, Star Power." Now, Iza rejoins the Q family as she co-hosts the network’s newest cooking show, "Healthy Cravings," which the actress describes as a "vegetarian’s cooking show."

Also new in Q’s programming slate are "True Stories" and "Tropang Potchi," both shows which also feature GMAAC talents. "True Stories" is a program built around stories of love and sacrifice meant to inspire Q’s viewers. And who better to inspire than GMAAC’s very own "Survivor: Philippines" castaway Jace Flores who joins main host Vicky Morales in the program. "Tropang Potchi" is a kid-oriented program. Joining the cast of the program is kid-actor Miggy Jimenez who fits in perfectly with his variety of interests that range from acting to cooking. In the world of entertainment, and infotainment, GMA Artist Center always strives to find the perfect show for its talents, and provides the best talent fit for the show.
