Stylish duo know how to share

THEY’RE gorgeous and glamorous movie stars but apart from that, Angel Locsin and Anne Curtis prove that they are more than just pretty faces.

The two have partnered to create Shop and Share (Shopandshare.ph), a website where celebrity stuff are auctioned off for the benefit of recent calamities which caused great destruction and fatalities to millions in the country.

Shop and Share, in partnership with eBay.ph, was recently launched in a special event featuring a wide array of pre-owned bags, clothes and fashion accessories, along with various memorabilia that shall be auctioned off on eBay.

Angel and Anne, together with Philippine Red Cross Governors Dennis Mendiola and Joanne Zapanta-Andrada, Red Cross Secretary General Gwen Pang and web commerce experts Lester Villarama and Eireen Diokno-Bernardo were in attendance at the launch at the Sining Kamalig Art Gallery at Gateway Mall.

A great sense of urgency to raise funds for the victims of ONdoy and Pepeng was the driving force behind the project. The idea is for celebrities to help not just by contributing monetary aid but also giving up some of their prized collections. And the stars did not disappoint. Shop and Share has sold over P700,000 barely a month after it started. Among the first celebrities who have supported the endeavor and contributed their personal belongings are Ruffa Gutierrez, Kris Aquino, Kim Chiu, Maxene Magalona, Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes, Piolo Pascual, John Lloyd Cruz, Pokwang, Luis Manzano, Ogie Alcasid and true-to-life Ondoy hero Gerald Anderson.

Some of the items up for auction are Kris’ designer bags, Pacman’s autographed shoes, Ogie’s Gundam Robot and Angel’s Darna statuette.

One hundred percent of the net sales proceeds will be donated to the Philippine Red Cross. Aside from allocating funds for relief, the Red Cross plans to use the proceeds for rehabilitation works, including the rebuilding of houses and installation of livelihood programs.
