is more than a kiddie treat. The Candy Corner confectionery
recently hosted a banquet at Le Soufflé Rockwell Club to
showcase candy creations inspired by Jelly Belly beans.
Bubu Andres, queen of the confectionery
kingdom, hosted the event where attendees toasted with jelly
bean mocktails and cocktails, ate desserts inspired by jelly
bean flavors, and admired the edible jelly bean table
masterpieces. "With a touch of creativity and imagination, jelly
beans can be consumed in many interesting ways," says Andres.
Mocktails (non-alcoholic) flavors include
pineapple banana, apple cinnamon, and Not a Piñacolada.
Cocktails (alcoholic) were available in flavors like Berry
Cosmopolitan, Gin Kiwi Watermelon, and Absolute Citron with
Cantaloupe. Lilli Anne Alcantara, beverage trainor and
mixologist of Cellar Dwellers, a group specializing in drink
mixes, created the jelly bean beverages.
The room with colorful table accents made
from jelly beans was created by Teddy Manuel, designer and
stylist for Flowers & Events. Apreciating the potential of using
candies as material for décor, he says, "The jelly beans come in
a variety of colors and are quite easy on the eyes. Its small
size is right for making elaborate shapes and designs."
Sumptuous desserts by Baba Ibazeta Benedicto,
owner of Classic Confections, satisfied the guests’ sweet
cravings. The dessert lineup included cookies and cupcakes with
jelly beans.
Jelly beans can also serve as souvenirs after
parties, weddings, debuts, birthday bashes, and other special
occasions.
Jelly Belly jelly beans are available at Candy Corner outlets
