'She loves him, he loves her. And that's what really matters.'

No problem with Marian's
bf if she goes topless

THEY are in love," says someone who knows of the ongoing romance between Marian Rivera and Ervic Vijandre, a ramp and commercial model. "He understands her and her career. Tiwalang tiwala sila sa isa't isa kaya with him, Marian feels secure."

Marian thinks her following will not take it against her if she has fallen for someone who is not an actor. She loves him, he loves her, and that's what really matters.w

Marian is currently in Colon, Palawan, (isn't that where Judy Ann Santos filmed her movie, "Ploning?") for the shooting of her new teleserye, "Dyesebel." Like the rest of the female cast in "Dyesebel," she will go topless. Would Ervic mind? We asked her when she was launched as Karimadon's new endorser.

"I don't think he will," said Marian. "He knows this is just part of my work."

In town is the Swing Out Sister, which performed at the Araneta Coliseum last Monday. They also recently launched their new album, "Beautiful Mess," which Universal Records is distributing locally.

"Beautiful Mess" is the band's ninth album and exposes a more intimate sound. Corinne Drewery, the soloist, renders her songs with a more mature timber, supported by Andy Connell's unusually restrained voice. It is rhythm-heavy, yet still interwoven with their signature string and vocal arrangements.

Corinne and Andy have been singing together for years now. They met by chance in Manchester in the legendary Hacienda Club.

Prior to their meeting, Andy had already proven his musical prowess with "Factory's a Certain Ratio." Corinne's original dream was to be a fashion designer. In fact, she has a degree in fashion designing from the St. Martin's School of Arts in London. But she was also interested in music, so she and Andy, along with ex-drummer Martin Jackson, decided to combine their diverse influences and produce demos which helped define the future sound of the band.

How they came up with the name Swing Out Sister is a story in itself. They individually coined several names. Then someone mentioned Swing Out Sister. And everybody agreed it was it.

Corinne agrees it's their unique blend of cinematic jazz which has made them one of the bands to reckon with. Several of their popular songs included "Breakout," "Surrender" and "Twilight World." Their debut album, "It's Better to Travel," hit the No. 1 spot in the United Kingdom, followed by more success all throughout Europe, the United States and the Far East, including Japan.

In the nine years that Swing Out Sister has been in existence, they have produced eight studio albums, two live albums and over a decade of live shows and themes and scores for television and Andy's composition for short films.

Swing Out Sister, in "Beautiful Mess," celebrates the eclectic cultural mix of UK's constantly changing music scene, with a sound that owes much to hip hop, club and jazz fusion and a hint of electro along the way.

When friends in the business learned that this middle-aged actor had a botox, they understood. He may just want a transformation, they said.

But not that he seems to be having a botox "overdose," they have become worried, not only because he now looks much, much younger than his age, but also because his face have been "stretched" so much that they are afraid he won't be able to come up with the right expression for a scene.
