THE title of the CD says it all, "Rachelle Ann Rocks Live"
means that the "Search for a Star" champion Rachelle Ann Go
has undergone a surprising change of pace and sound for her
fourth album. The songs included in the album are all pop-rock
favorites and Rachelle recorded the entire CD in one sitting
with a band. The session, which was also filmed for future
release on DVD was held at 19 East in Parañaque.
Thirteen songs, mostly popularized by male artists or
groups, made it to the final cut out of an initial list of two
hundred titles . The songs that were chosen suit Rachelle
Ann’s style and are popular among Filipino music lovers.
Leading the list is "Honestly" by Harem Scarem, which has
been chosen as the first single. Other tracks are "No Rain" by
Blind Melon; "I Just Can’t Let Go" by David Pack; "The Search
is Over" by Survivor; "This Ain’t a Love Song" by Bon Jovi; "Cryin’"
by Aerosmith; "That’s What Love is For" by Amy Grant; "When
You Love Someone" by Bryan Adams; "Someone" by the Rembrandts;
"Can’t Cry Hard Enough" by the Williams Brothers; "Can’t Fight
This Feeling" by Reo Speedwagon; "I Ain’t Missing You at All"
by John Waite; and "Two Steps Behind" by Def Leppard.
A Viva Records release, "Rachelle Ann Rocks" was produced
by Alwyn Cruz and mixed and mastered by Luca Vittori. Nino
Regalado, one of today’s top young drummers is the musical
director and arranger of all the songs. The band put together
for the recording was made up of Noel Mendez on first guitar;
Janno Queyquep on second guitar; Monet Silvestre on first
keyboard; Jay Agustin on second keyboard; Soc Mina on bass and
