ADAMSON tries to make it two in a row against Far Eastern
University, with the Lady Falcons raring to start the second round action of
the Shakey’s V-League Season5 the way they started it–on a winning note.
The Falcons whipped the Tams 25-17, 25-11, 25-22 just last
Sunday to complete an amazing sweep of the first phase of the eliminations
without dropping a set.
How they would fare the second time around in as many days
will be known at 4 p.m. today when Neriza Bautista heads a fired-up squad out
to prove its first round romp was no fluke.
San Sebastian, which held off Ateneo 25-21, 25-22, 27-25 to
seize solo second with a 4-1mark also last Sunday, goes up against St. Benilde
at 2 o’clock, hoping to duplicate its straight-sets victory over the newcomer
last March 30 in the tournament sponsored by Shakey’s Pizza and organized by
Sports Vision.
Focus, however, will be on the Adamson-FEU duel, with the
Tams, who outlasted the Falcons in a thrilling sudden death to win the recent
UAAP volley crown, hoping to come up with key adjustments to neutralize the
rampaging San Marcelino-based tossers in the league backed by Active White skin
whitening products, Mail and More, ICT Call Center, Mikasa and Accel.
Coach Irish Morada is expected to draw solid games from
Cherry Vivas, Shaira Gonzalez, Rose Ann Taganas and Mary Rose Cabanag as the
Tams go all out to stop Bautista and Adamson mainstays Angela Benting, Rissa
Laguilles, Jacqueline So, Michelle Segodine and Janet Serafica.
"We have to continue winning because we’re gunning for an outright semis
berth," said Adamson coach Dulce Pante. "But we need to play more as a team and
show a lot of discipline for us to continue the streak."
