Soldiers, policemen
assured of P18 rice
Local execs ‘hoarding’ stocks warned

THE Armed Forces yesterday started selling government-subsidized rice in its 32 commissaries for soldiers and veterans and their dependents.

And instead of P18.25 a kilo, it sells the rice from the National Food Authority for P18.

"All our outlets in the AFP commissary and exchange service system will now be used as the distribution outlets which could serve veterans and soldiers," said AFP chief Gen. Hermogenes Esperon.

Another ‘moro-moro’ in the works?

THE United Opposition (UNO) yesterday branded as a "cheap charade" the graft charges against Hernando Perez, the first justice secretary of President Arroyo.

UNO spokesman Adel Tamano said the filing of the case against Perez was meant to create a public illusion that the Ombudsman can prosecute allies and relatives of President Arroyo.

"This reminds us of Oliver Lozano filing impeachment proceedings against President Arroyo before the House of Representatives," Tamano said.

Signature drive for Erap
in 2010 launched

THE "Erap 2010" movement was launched yesterday at the Club Filipino in San Juan to convince Joseph Estrada to seek the presidency in 2010.

Vince Avena, president of the movement, said they plan to gather 1.43 million signatures signifying 1-4-3 which means "I love you."

But political personalities and opposition figures were not present in the launch.
