‘All the guys romantically involved with me,
minahal ko sila nang totoo. Matino akong babae, no? Kaya mali yung image
na playgirl ako.– Anne Curtis’ |
Anne: I’m not a playgirl
T HE LAST time
we talked to them together, Jericho Rosales and Heart Evangelista told us
they plan to have two weddings: a formal one in their church and informal one on
a beach. When we interviewed Echo for the TV series he’s now taping in Malaysia,
he said Heart has nothing to worry about his being paired with Malaysian actress
Carmen Soo as he’ll remain faithful to her.
Now, the latest rumor about them is that they have broken up.
Scuttlebutt even says they actually split three months ago, but it’s only now
that the press has learned about it.
If this is true, how come we’re not surprised? Even then, we
felt there’s something mismatched about their "you-and-me-against the world"
kind of affair. Remember, Heart defied her parents when she hooked up with Echo
as they can’t seem to accept him. Heart even got her own condo unit to live
independently.
Even their fans don’t seem to approve of their love affair,
especially when they both left ABS-CBN and chose to be handled by Genesis. Their
first show together, "Panday," didn’t rate well and their careers both took a
nosedive. On TV, Heart did "Hiram na Mukha" while Echo did "Pangarap na Bituin,"
both of which had dismal ratings. On the big screen, Echo’s outing as Manny
Pacquiao was a big flop, but the consolation is he won a best actor award for
his convincing portrayal. Their careers still haven’t recovered. Hopefully, if
it it’s true that they’ve parted ways (no one has confirmed it yet), then this
might somehow help rekindle the public’s interest in them and also revive their
careers.

When Sheryl Cruz decided to revive her acting career
here in Manila, GMA-7 gave her good projects like "Tinig" in "Dramarama sa Hapon"
and "Sinasamba Kita" in "Sine Novela." Both rated very high. She was then given
a villain role in "Mga Mata ni Anghelita" on primetime and again, it rated very
well. After this, she decided to move to ABS-CBN and they gave her projects like
"Princess Sarah" and "Cindy Rella," both of which didn’t do so well in the
ratings.
Now, it’s rumored that Sheryl wants to return to GMA-7 and is
asking for a new project, but GMA execs are said not to be that enthusiastic to
accept her back. "Hindi kasi naging maganda ang biglaan niyang pag-alis at
paglipat sa ABS," says a GMA diehard.
How come Arnell Ignacio and Angelika de la Cruz were accepted
back by GMA-7 and now have new projects with the Kapuso Network? "Yes, but it
took years bago sila nakabalik."
But someone who’s close to Sheryl says it’s not true that
she’s imploring GMA to get her back. "Natatawa nga siya sa mga balitang
nagpapa-ramdam daw siya at nagbigay pa siya ng mamahaling gifts sa
GMA execs para kunin lang siya uli," says Sheryl’s supporter. "The truth
is gusto niya talaga munang magpahinga as she’s attending to a lot of
important things. Una na nga yung napabalitang split up nila ng
husband niyang si Norman Bustos. Also, she has gotten her own house and
lot na titirhan nila ng daughter niyang si Ashley. Sarili
niyang pundar ito and she’s very proud of it."

Just like Kristine Hermosa and Bea Alonzo, her
colleagues at the Kapamilya Network, Anne Curtis is a mestiza beauty with
fair and flawless skin. Her advantage is that she has a sexier figure than them
which she displays in skimpy bikinis in her new movie, "When Love Begins." As
director Joey Reyes says, "Siya lang ang may fire, may libog."
"I’m confident with my body kaya okay lang kahit
marami akong scenes na naka-swimsuit," she says.
No wonder she’s also the "most ligawin" type and has been
linked to various guys: Chubi del Rosario, Oyoboy Sotto, Luis Manzano, Richard
Gutierrez and Paolo Araneta. Now, she’s being linked to Sam Milby. No wonder
she’s tagged as a playgirl.
"I’m hurt by that accusation," she says. "To begin with, I’m
not easy to get. Hindi ako basta pumapatol kahit kanino. At hindi naman ako
yung type na pinagsasabay-sabay ko sila. All the guys romantically
involved with me, minahal ko sila nang totoo. Matino akong babae, no?
Kaya mali yung image na playgirl ako.
"Yung kay Chubi, siya talaga ang first love ko,
pero puppy love lang yon kasi we were both so young then, mga
13 or 14 lang then nag-kahiwalay na kami kasi I became very busy
with work. As for Luis, never kaming naging on but it’s just a special
kind of friendship. Kay Richard, hindi nagtagal as we’re both so
busy, lalo siya, and I felt hindi rin ako gusto ni Tita Annabelle
(Rama) for him because nga of my playgirl image. Si Paolo naman,
may third party involved on his side. Si Oyo talaga ang
pinakamatagal kong naging BF. Almost three years. Itong kay Sam, he’s
very special din but there’s nothing really serious going on yet. As of now,
gusto ko, my next boyfriend, yung for good na at ayoko nang
break-break pa uli."
It’s her first time to be paired with Aga Muhlach in "When
Love Begins." "I was 11 years old lang when I did my first movie, ‘Magic
Kingdom,’ in 1997, and even then, sinabi ko nang ang dream ko is
to be paired with Aga someday. Heto, after 11 years, nagkatotoo na
and it’s a dream come true for me. When they first told me that we’d do a movie
together, I wasn’t able to sleep. I got really excited. And when we shot na
our first scenes together, I was so tense kaya ni-reshoot yun and
Aga told me to relax. He made me feel comfortable so we can get the scene right.
To calm me down, he’d say, ‘Steady lang’, kaya tuloy yun ang tawag ko sa
kanya, si Mr. Steady Lang. And no doubt he’s really a good actor kaya
kapag mahihirap ang eksena, madadala ka talaga sa husay niya."
She’s confident the movie will be a hit when it opens in
theaters on April 30. On TV, her next project with ABS is a new fantaserye,
"Diyosa," where she’ll play the title role. Is this a remake of the Lorna
Tolentino movie with Regal? "Hindi yata. Kasi I asked about the story
at yung kay Lorna raw was about a goddess who takes revenge on the
family of the man who deceived her. The ‘Diyosa’ I’m doing has a different story
at iba rin ang concept. Apo ako ni Mariang Sinukuan and Bernardo
Carpio."

The second nomination night was held last Sunday in "PBB
Teen Plus" and the two housemates who got nominated by their colleagues are
Spanish Stallion Kevin and Bikini Babe Linda from Iriga, Bicol. Like what we’ve
earlier written here, the housemates don’t like Kevin as he is too bossy and
orders them around. His jokes on them are also tactless and tasteless. No wonder
they voted for him to be nominated for eviction. Linda was also nominated for
more or less the same reasons.
Promdi Hottie Ejay of Mindoro was exempted from being
nominated after winning the immunity task assigned to them by Kuya. Among the
guardians, the one ousted was Doc Boy, the father of True Blue Atenean Robi. He
was chosen by the Teen Council composed of Josef, Beauty, Nan, Jolas, Kevin,
Ejay and Robi himself. Meantime, looks like Alex and Nicole are getting closer
and closer to one another. And mind you, they do look good together as a love
team.
Find out today at 8:30 p.m. in the second eviction night who
between Kevin and Linda will be joining first evictee Jieriel of Davao. You can
watch "PBB Teens" in "Uber" weekdays at 5:30 p.m., on Primetime after "Lobo," on
Studio 23 from 12 noon to 2 p.m., and online via TFCNow VIdeo Stream,
www.abs-cbnnow.com.

Congrats to Viva exec June Torrejon, also the manager
of Edu Manzano, Pia Guanio, etc. Mother Lily hosted a dinner for her at Century
Imperial Palace last Monday night and her youngest daughter, Bertha, who just
finished dentistry and is now preparing for the dental board exam. June’s eldest
son, Rachelle, is, in turn, a doctor of medicine. The father of her four kids,
Randy Rufino (their marriage has been officially annulled), was there that night
to personally congratulate Bertha.

After her breakup with cager Jimmy Alapag, LJ Moreno
shuns having another boyfriend right away and wants to cultivate her spiritual
life. "I was accused that I was a Material Girl daw kaya Jimmy split from
me, which is not true," she says. "There was a third party involved at hindi
yun sa side ko. Now, I’ve turned to the Lord and that has helped me
in moving on with my life. I’m 27 and I’ve had enough of partying. I want to be
more serious and give more meaning to my life, and this is why I’m teaching
pre-school kids at Little Gym at the Fort and also taking up masters in special
education to help parents of kids with special needs."
She last appeared in the GMA-7 sitcom, "Kool Ka Lang," with
Raymart Santiago. Now, Viva just signed her up to a contract to revive her
acting career and she says she’s willing to tackle serious character roles on TV
and in film.
The girl accused of stealing Jimmy from LJ is Fil-Aussie "Pinoy
Dream Academy" find, Gemma Fitzgerald, who was once linked to AJ Dee and is now
part of the all-girl group, Koolchx. Gemma admits she first met Jimmy when his
basketball team played in Sydney two years ago.
"But that’s all there is to it," she swears. "I’ve gone out
with him here, but we’re in a group and there’s no romantic involvement between
us so I’m not the third party that they say is the reason they broke up."
Why does LJ suspect they’re playing beautiful music together? "When AJ Dee
and I broke up, that was also the time she and Jimmy broke up. So kami ni
Jimmy, parang shoulder to cry on that we were there to console each
other. LJ thought kami na, but honestly, hindi talaga." |
