Pinoy’s photo journal of Australia

A breathtaking view of the Island Arch in the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, pumpkins at the Sydney Royal Easter Show at the Olympic Park in Sydney, a frozen image of the Sydney Opera House are some of the photographs that will be shown in the "Wandering Soul" a solo exhibit by Kleyr de la Cruz from April 30 to May 3 at The Podium’s lounge Area. A joint project of the Australian Embassy in Manila and The Podium, it is a photo journal of De la Cruz‘s travels in Australia.

De la Cruz, a photographer, artist and events planner is affiliated with the ALPHA Camera Club and the Federation of Philippine Photographers Foundation (FPPF). She also runs her own company, Fine Details Events Coordinator.

When she made her first trip to Australia in 1998 to attend a cousin’s wedding, she began a personal travel documentary and a journal of photographs with pictures of places, people, scenic spots and cultural events.

In Wandering Soul, Australia is seen through her eyes and the images she captures celebrate the country’s beauty and diversity. She takes viewers on a visual journey beyond New South Wales to the Twelve Apostles at the Great Ocean Road, to the play of colors in Melbourne, the beaches of the Gold Coast, and the seat of government in Canberra.
