uffa Gutierrez has
been tapped to play the role of the beauty and fashion icon Daniela Valencia in
the upcoming ABS-CBN teleserye, "Betty La Fea." The Miss World Second
Princess of 1993, after all, personifies not just beauty but fashion itself. And
at 30-something and with two kids, Ruffa has remained sexy.
"I work hard to preserve not just my youth but my looks,
especially. What I am now and what I will become in showbiz depends on how I
look," Ruffa said.
True enough, Ruffa has remained one of the most beautiful
actresses of today. In any showbiz gathering attended by her fellow actresses,
she simply stands out.
Ruffa got the role of Daniela primarily for this reason,
revealed one member of the production staff of "Betty La Fea": "In the original
version of 'Betty La Fea' shown in Colombia where the series originated, the
character of Daniela is not included. We purposely created the part of Daniela
to accommodate Ruffa. We are glad she agreed to do the role."
Ruffa, for her part, declared: "You may love me or not love
me in 'Betty La Fea,' but I promise to be very effective in my role. It's my
first time to do a role of kontrabida. And I just have to prove that I
was born to essay Daniela Valencia in the series."
Portraying the top role of "Betty la Fea" is Bea Alonzo. Who
will act the part of Armando, the supposed love of 'Betty la Fea's' life, has
yet to be announced.
Vhong Navarro, though, has been picked up to play Bea's best
friend.

Rayver Cruz doesn't resent having been abandoned by Shaina
Magdayao as a love team. Shaina is now better known as the real and reel love
partner of John Prats.
"Siguro," said Rayver, "one day soon, magkakaroon
din ako ng ka-love team."
In the horror-suspense teleserye, "Spirits," when he
was only 15 years old, Rayver was teamed up with Maja Salvador. A little "push"
from people behind their respective careers would have helped make them click as
a love team. But he was paired with Shaina.
"I sure would want to be teamed up with Maja. Ako mismo ay
naniniwalang may chemistry kami," Rayver said.

Rayver turned 19 last July 25. He had no chance to throw a
birthday party since he was featured as one of the models in the fashion show,
"The Bench Blackout."
A member of the Cruz family (Geneva, Sunshine and Sheryl Cruz
are his cousins), Rayver excels not just in acting but also in singing and
dancing.
As far as Rayver is concerned, he has gone a long way. After
all, from being one of the members of the group Anime, he is now one of the
heartthrobs of "ASAP."
He is currently busy taping for his upcoming musical show,
titled "Kelly Kelly," co-produced by Star Cinema and Unilever.
