WHAT happens when the undisputed Comedy King
meets the Box-Office King in the biggest comedy movie event of
the year?
All hell breaks loose, that’s for sure as the
dream duo promises to take moviegoers on a journey of non-stop
rib-tickling and madcap (mis)adventures.
Comic icons Dolphy and Vic Sotto undeniably
double the fun and excitement as they team up in RVQ
Productions, M-Zet Films and APT Entertainment’s "Dobol Trobol:
Get Redi to Rambol," opening August 13.
The film not only boasts of riotous comic
situations, physical humor and tried and tested gags. It also
showcases state-of-the-art special effects rarely seen in comedy
flicks.
Directed by Tony Y. Reyes, the movie tells of
an aging resort security guard/cook (Dolphy) facing retirement
and the odds he has to bear to single-handedly raise his only
child, played by Miss Earth-Canada and former "Pinoy Big
Brother: Celebrity Edition 2" housemate Riza Santos).
Father and daughter lead a rather "quiet"
life until the resort’s new recruit (Vic), tapped by management
to assume Dolphy’s post, enters their lives and falls in love
with Riza.
"Umpisa pa lang, asaran at buwisitan na,
dahil akala niya, sinulot ko siya sa trabaho. Magbabago
lang ‘yon nang makilala ko ang anak niya (Riza). Pero
lalo siyang maaasar sa akin, ako naman, pilit na aareglo sa
kanya," Vic shares.
"’Yun pala," he continues, "ang panliligaw
ko kay Riza ang magiging tulay para mabuksan ang isang
yugto sa buhay niya na kailangang maayos."
Carmi Martin plays Dolphy’s wife in "Dobol
Trobol: Get Redi 2 Rambol," while "Eat Bulaga" dabarkads
Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola play the lead characters’
respective sidekicks.
Also appearing in cameo roles are Dolphy and
Vic’s real-life partners, Zsa Zsa Padilla and Pia Guanio, plus a
host of other big-name actors and actresses.
Much-awarded Bibeth Orteza wrote the script,
but Dolphy, Vic and Direk Tony themselves injected their
share of ideas during principal photography.
"It was actually an ongoing process. Hindi
lang ito puro patawa, may puso rin ang istorya," Vic says. "Medyo
natagalan nga lang dahil pareho kaming busy sa TV,
pero nu’ng nagmi-meeting na kami, panay ang bangka ni
Dolphy.
"Sobra siyang excited. Ang hindi
niya alam, mas doble ang excitement ko dahil sa wakas,
nagkasama rin kami sa pelikula."
Do get ready as this year’s biggest movie
event, "Dobol Trobol: Get Redi 2 Rambol," brings together for
the first time Dolphy and Vic in a rare outing that is touted to
break all existing box-office records!
"Dobol Trobol: Get Redi 2 Rambol" hits the big creen on
