Low-fare leader Cebu Pacific (CEB), the country's largest
domestic carrier, reduces its year-round fares for select domestic routes by as
much as 35 percent starting today, August 11, 2008.
The lowest one-way fare from Manila to Puerto Princesa and
Tagbilaran drops from P1,988 to P1,488. The one-way fare from Manila to Boracay
and other Visayas destinations eases to P1,288 "all-inclusive", thereby reducing
fare to Boracay by 35 percent.
CEB also reduces its Manila to Mindanao one-way fare from
P2,488 to P1,988.
Candice Iyog, CEB vice president for marketing and product,
said, "We are providing the public very low fares to help them continue flying
despite the economic downturn. We hope to further stimulate domestic trade and
tourism by offering very affordable travel options to our growing passenger
base."
This is the airline's second permanent fare reduction
initiative after it launched its all-inclusive pricing for domestic services in
June 2008.
Iyog added, "With fares comparable to other modes of
transport, passengers who take bus and ferry rides may now look into flying as a
very viable option. And now that our operations at the new Cebu Pacific terminal
in NAIA-3 have stabilized, our passengers may look forward to a better airport
service."
Now in its 13th year, CEB has the youngest aircraft fleet in the Philippines
with 10 A319, eight A320, and two ATR72-500 aircraft.
