‘Binibini’ queen is ‘peace ambassador’

Last August 24, Jesus Dureza, presidential adviser for the Peace Process, designated reigning Bb. Pilipinas-Grand International Elizabeth Dorado Clenci as “National Peace Ambassador.”

Clenci, who is set to compete for the 5th Miss Grand International pageant in Vietnam on October 25, took to social media to express her elation in being conferred the honor.

“It is an absolute honour to be appointed National Peace Ambassador. This month a number of activities, forums and events will be conducted in order to promote and advocate the peace within our nation,” posted Clenci, a 26-year-old Filipino-Romanian jazz bassist who was born in Canberra, Australia and represented her mother’s hometown of Mandaue at Binibining Pilipinas 2017.

During the Binibining Pilipinas 2017, peace through equality and understanding was Clenci’s advocacy.

Congratulations to John de la Vega, the president of Jewel of the Philippines pageant, and to KIF (Keen Instant Fortune), headed by Tu Yu Han or better known as Rocky, for the successful launch of the second annual search for beautiful Filipinas to represent the Philippines in various international tilts.

The auspicious event was held at the vestibule of the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Resorts World Manila last week and De la Vega happily announced that this year’s search is being re-branded as a cultural pageant that will showcase and highlight not only the beauty of the Filipina, but the country’s rich culture, arts, customs and traditions.

KIF is also excited to partner with De la Vega and has pledged to promote Philippine tourism, as well as provide job opportunities for the winners.

The 2016 Jewel titlists who are set to compete abroad are: Romellean Pontino for Miss United Continents in Guayaquil, Ecuador on Sept. 23; Cindy de Vera for Global Charity Queen in Taiwan in October; Gladys Santos for Miss Tourism World in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China on Oct. 3; and Inna Gita for Miss Globe International in Turkey on Oct. 21.

Congratulations to John Dinawanao and Leandra Batingan for winning the coveted Mr. & Miss Tanglawan 2017 titles at beauty tilt that served as one of the highlights of Tanglawan Festival 2017, the socio-cultural event initiated last year in progressive San Jose del Monte City by Mayor Arthur Robes and his amiable wife Rep. Florida Robes.

The pageant, held at Star Mall-San Jose del Monte, was directed by Gareth Blanco with Ovette Ricalde as over-all chair of production.
