Angelica uncharacteristically quiet

Actor and Callalily frontman Kean Cipriano knew his appearance will be short in “Seven Sundays.” Short, but it’s a meaty role as explained by director Cathy Garcia-Molina.

He was to be the philandering husband of Cristine Reyes, who plays the only daughter of Ronaldo Valdez and sister of Dingdong Dantes, Enrique Gil and Aga Muhlach.

“Pero klaro raw na I’m a good father to our children,” said Kean, “So, right away I said I will do it.

“Besides – ‘di ba? – it’s a rare instance that you get the chance to be in a movie with some of the best in the field?

“I’m a fan, especially of Aga,” he further said. “That’s why I regret not sharing a scene with him.”

Kean was expected to attend the movie’s premiere with wife Chynna Ortaleza. Too bad that she missed the event because of work.

The rest of the cast, though had their partners with them. Aga was accompanied by wife Charlene Gonzales, their twins Atasha and Andres and his eldest son, Luigi (with actress Janice de Belen).

Ronaldo was with his wife, Marife Ylagan Gibbs. Dingdong came with Marian Rivera. Cristine was accompanied by husband Ali Khatibi.

Enrique was joined by rumored girlfriend Liza Soberano.

Janine Gutierrez swears she and Rayver Cruz are just friends.

She does not deny that they are “very close,” and she loves being with him. Hopefully, he feels the same, she joked.

They had a great time together in Indonesia, where she marked her 27th birthday. They also had fun at the recent Star Magic Ball, where she bumped into former boyfriend, Elmo Magalona.

Elmo is now a Kapamilya and is rumored to be the beau of Janella Salvador.

“I’m happy for Elmo,” Janine stated.

Janine will soon be seen in OctoArts Films’ “Spirit of the Glass 2,” directed by Jose Javier Reyes. She is also taping a digital series, “Unbroken Hearts,” produced by Atty Joji Alonzo and Planet A Media.

Soon, she will have her own album. Janine is, after all, the grandchild of two of the grandest singers in the country, Nora Aunor and Pilita Corrales. Her parents are estranged couple Lotlot de Leon and Ramon Christopher.

She has never been the quite type but the usually sunny actress Angelica Panganiban is uncharacteristically silent about her ex-boyfriend, John Lloyd Cruz, who has been in the news lately because of his decision to take a break from showbiz.

“She is busy, after all,” a kibitzer said, “She has a new movie with Judy Ann Santos, ‘Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes,’ and she has a weekly gag show, ‘Banana Sundae.’

It was also good timing that as showbiz was inundated with news about John Lloyd and Ellen Adarna, Angelica was vacationing with good friend Glaiza de Castro in Nepal.

Before the whole John Lloyd-Ellen affair became public, there were those who hoped Angelica and John Lloyd would reconcile. They were even seen eating out together. This time, though, it seems friends need to arrange for Angelica to meet new guys.

Nice guys, someone specified.

Mother Lily Monteverde has informed us versatile actress Julia Montes will soon star in a movie for   Regal Entertainment.

“Pinag-u-usapan pa kung anong pelikula at sino ang magdi-direk. Pero, pina-plano na,” said the lady producer.

Julia was last seen in an episode of “Wansapanataym.” Her last major series was “Doble Kara,” directed by Manny Palo.
