Folayang title defense live on S+A

ONE world lightweight champion and Filipino MMA star Eduard “Landslide” Folayang defends his title against reigning featherweight titlist Martin “The Situ Asian” Nguyen today, Friday, in a match to be aired live by ABS-CBN S+A at 8:30 p.m.

The mega fight card dubbed “Legends of the World” will give Pinoy MMA fans a massive treat from the Mall of Asia Arena.

Aside from Folayang, other Filipinos competing in the event are Danny Kingad, Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon, Joshua “The Passion” Pacio, and Gina “Conviction” Iniong.

Kingad eyes the flyweight belt of Brazilian Adriano Moraes, Belingon will suit up against South Korean Kevin Chung, Pacio faces compatriot Roy Doliguez, while Iniong goes for her third straight win at the expense of Indonesia’s Priscilla Gaol.

Before action starts, football aficionados get first dibs as S+A airs the 1st leg of the playoff match between Northern Ireland and Switzerland in the European Qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup live at 3:30 am.

The first leg of the playoffs between Croatia and Greece follows at 5:30 a.m.

Local basketball takes center stage in the afternoon with the start of the NCAA finals between Lyceum and San Beda College live at 3:30 pm on S+A and S+A HD, as well as via livestreaming on sports.abs-cbn.com.

The Pirates, who reached the Final Four and the finals for the first time since joining the league in Season 87, look to keep their unbeaten streak alive against the defending champions, who have yet to defeat Lyceum this season.
