4 mines fail review

Four of the 27 mine sites being reviewed by the interagency Mining Industry Coordinating Council (MICC) have so far failed to meet the benchmarks of the recommendatory body, although this may still change since it is only an interim review and subject to the final results of the report.

THE editorial “Tagle Prodded to Fight” (June 18, 2018) attempts to paint a picture of a “weakened” Catholic Church, cowed by Mr. Duterte’s incessant attack and nearly helpless in defending itself. I could not have read a more ridiculous piece.
