KC marks acting
debut on television

Now it can be told; the country’s favorite showbiz royalty KC Concepcion has chosen "Maalaala Mo Kaya" (or "MMK" for short) to be her first acting arena on television.

Although she grew up in front of the camera, KC Concepcion has been very careful with the showbiz projects she accepts. And even though performing arts is her passion, she restricted herself to appearing in commercials and several guestings, until she graduated from college, explored Paris, and came back to Manila. But while KC expressed her interest in fully entering the world of show business, the young celebrity is still very choosy in mapping out her career.

Star Television, the creative team behind the top-rating and multi-awarded drama anthology, was more than ecstatic when they learned that KC agreed to jumpstart her career through ABS-CBN’s "MMK."

"KC is one of the most sought-after, not to mention multi-talented personalities in the industry today. Kaya naman we’re very happy na kami ang napili niya sa una niyang paglabas bilang isang aktres." says Ginny Ocampo, production manager of ‘MMK.’

In her first appearance on the show, viewers will be pleased to see KC in a role that will surely add to her laurels as a TV personality. The musicals and stage plays that she did years ago already proved that she can act, but this "MMK" episode will further prove her versatility in the craft. Her supporters will also be thrilled to know that KC’s role in this special episode is very different from her previous performances.

The story revolves around Darlene (KC), a young woman who lived a luxurious life, she had everything she needed and wanted; her life seemed so perfect, until her parents met a tragedy that claimed her father’s life and changed her whole world. From being a well-sheltered party girl, she becomes her family’s breadwinner and experiences the hard-knock life.

KC’s fans should watch out for this episode as it features the showbiz royalty in a position that is not often seen of her: Problematic and unglamorous. It is directed by Jerry Lopez Sineneng and co-stars Derek Ramsey, Agot Isidro, and Ricky Davao.

On her acting debut on television, KC managed to impress her director and co-stars alike. "Hanga ako diyan kay KC," claims direk Jerry. "She is very intense in her performance, yet very professional. She comes to the taping on time, and ina-aral niya talaga ang script niya."

"Of course, I’ve heard so much about her already," says co-star Derek. "Pero when you get to work with her, lalo kang hahanga sa kanya."

"With her upbringing and personality, siguradong tatagal si KC sa showbiz," adds Agot. "For her fans who have been waiting for this moment for so long, I assure them that they won’t be disappointed," Ricky ended.

KC’s acting debut on TV is a special Valentine presentation in "Maalaala Mo Kaya" tonight (February 15), after "Maging Sino Ka Man."
