Police in search
for charges vs Lozada

BY RAYMOND AFRICA

A DAY after filing perjury charges against Violet Lozada, wife of ZTE star witness Rodolfo Noel Lozada Jr., the PNP is now looking for "appropriate" charges against him.

PNP spokesman Senior Supt. Nicanor Bartolome said the PNP will determine if available documentary and testimonial evidence against Lozada will stand up in court.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group assisted Senior Supt. Paul Mascariñas, deputy chief of the Police Security and Protection Office, in filing perjury charges against Violet Lozada Tuesday.

The case stemmed from the writ of habeas corpus filed by Violet before the Court of Appeals last February 6 which asked the PNP to produce the body of Jun Lozada.

The CA, however, junked Violet’s petition saying the case became moot when Lozada appeared before the media a day after he supposedly went missing.

Bartolome said Violet claimed she did not see her husband after he arrived from Hong Kong last February 5. "Kaya nga mismong si (Senior Supt.) Paul Mascariñas ang nag-file kasi alam na alam niya na magkasama sila nung gabi."
