GMA and Regal Films’ Valentine offering, "The Promise" has proven to be the ultimate romantic movie event of this year! On its opening day last February 14, the Richard Gutierrez-Angel Locsin starrer grossed P10.6 million! As of Monday, February 19, it grossed P40 million. The producers of the film are so pleased with the results.

It is raining compliments for young and talented director, Michael Tuviera for the fantastic job he has done in "The Promise." Equipped with the best technical team, Direk Mike has officially produced a mega blockbuster hit with "The Promise." His mentorship has also given birth to brighter stars, a more able Richard and Angel on the big screen. Both Richard and Angel perform splendidly in the film. The tandem glows on the big screen as if they have never been paired together before. The Philippines’ most treasured love team offers something new, exciting, and stirring in this project.

The rest of the cast gave tremendous performances in the film as well. Newcomer and first time movie actress, Rhian Ramos delivered wonderfully, playing the role of Monique. Surely, Rhian will have a long way to go in show business! And in no time, we will be sure to see her as one of the most in demand leading ladies of her generation. TJ Trinidad who plays Anton in the film owns scenes in the movie with the intensity he radiates in his every appearance. Ryan Eigenmann is the perfect pick for the role of Jason, Andrea’s (Angel Locsin) ruthless brother, making his presence felt and almost feared in this film. Veteran actors Melissa Mendez, Joel Torre, and, Eugene Domingo give remarkable performances in "The Promise" as well.
