Oyo professes unconditional
love for a 'friend'
A LTHOUGH
Regine Velas-quez has chosen to stay with GMA-7, she was still a no-show
in "SOP" last Sunday. Her boyfriend, Ogie Alcasid, sang in the wacky "Sobrang OJ"
portion and he sang about Regine to the tune of "Ang Pag-ibig Kong Ito" with
words to this effect: "Umiiyak nung isang Linggo si Songbird at ang
mga tao ay nagwa-wonder. Pati tuloy ako ay 'di na napigilan. Lahat nahawa
at nag-iyakan.
sobrang guwapo."
But later, Regine showed up in "The Buzz" to explain that
it's not true she's the one who sent feelers to ABS-CBN to get leverage in
bargaining with GMA-7. She said she mentioned that she wants to do the Tagalog
version of "Betty La Fea" whose rights are with ABS. She cried in "SOP" because
she already said goodbye to all her co-hosts but GMA then restrained her from
leaving. So now, she's sticking with GMA and she probably got what she wanted.
GMA exec Wilma Galvante has sent an official statement about Regine, saying: "GMA
Network values Regine Velasquez as an exceptional and professional artist. It is
true that in the past several weeks, there have been continuous discussions
between Regine, Cacai Velasquez-Mitra, her manager and the officers of the
network. We are thankful at this point there is now a more open communication
and clear-cut projects mapped out to suit both the network's programming plans
and Regine's schedule."
So all's well that ends well for Regine and GMA. How about
the rival network ABS CBN? Don't they feel that they've somehow been used in all
this?

Kristine Hermosa doesn't care if people say that she's
just a support to Toni Gonzaga and Sam Milby in "My Big Love." "I'm happy to
support them at natutuwa ako sa kanilang love team," she says. "Enjoy
ako doing the movie at walang gan'yang mga intriga sa Hollywood
kung malaki o maliit ang role mo."
In fairness to her, she gets top billing in the movie. Who
would she say is her own big love?
"Everyone knows first big love ko si Jericho
(Rosales), but my big love na kailan lang, si Diether (Ocampo)."
And now, it's Oyo Sotto? We teased her. "No, sa ngayon,
wala," says Kristine. "I'm happy being single."
How come Oyo declared in an interview his unconditional love
for her? "I don't know anything about that. You have to ask him yourself.
Kasi when we're together, wala naman siyang sinasabing 'I love you'
at all. Hindi siya nanliligaw sa'kin," Kristine states. "I only learned
about it mula sa mga interview sa kanya ng press. Sabagay,
sinabi ko talaga sa kanyang I'm not ready yet to get into another
relationship."
It's said that even Diether is puzzled by Oyo's statement and
told a friend: "I thought friends lang sila ni Kristine. How come may
sinasabi siya ngayong unconditional love?" What can Kristine say about this?
"Well, pareho lang sigurong honest about what they
feel. Basta ang importante, huwag lang silang mag-aaway. Si Diet is still
trying to win me back. But I told him I need more time kasi masyado niya
akong nasaktan noon."
It will be recalled that Diet was also linked to Oyo's mom,
Dina Bonnevie, when they did the movie "Bahid" for Regal some six years ago. We
asked Kristine about Dina's statement that she's worried about her son Oyo. It
was said Dina confided to someone that she feels "naaagrabiyado si Oyo
"Well, pakisabi kay Ms. D that I respect her opinion
but she need not worry dahil good friends lang kami ni Oyo at
Kasi wala akong
driver that time at nagmagandang loob si Oyo na siya ng maghatid
sa'kin. Sino naman ako para tumanggi?"

Carlene Aguilar took the Hot Seat in last Sunday's
"Showbiz Central" and was grilled by the Central Jury of Rufa Mae Quinto and DJ
Mo. She was asked about the status of her relationship with Dennis Trillo now.
Carlene says, "Hindi na kami, but we're friends for our son, Calix. He
visits us sa bahay or we go to his condo para makita si
Calix ng parents niya."
Did she really choose to be controversial to join showbiz?
"No. Sa totoo lang, ayokong pumasok ng showbiz. My focus now is to be a
full time mom and finish my studies. I also want to do modeling stints abroad.
If it weren't him, it would not have been magnified like this."
Cristine Reyes revealed that she already has a new boyfriend.
"That's not true. Sinabi raw iyon ni Dennis sa kanya. I don't know
kung saan galing 'yon and where he got that. I do go out dating but I
have no new boyfriend," Carlene said.
What can she say about the rumor that Cristine and Dennis
have reconciled and dated each other on Valentine's Day?
"Kung totoo, okay lang, pareho naman silang single,"
says Carlene. "Actually, wala akong reaction sa balitang
date nila. Wala na naman akong pakialam do'n."
Carlene chickened out when she got her Killer Question? She
chose to seal it and not reveal it. "As much as I want to reveal it, many kids
are watching at may usapan na kami ni Cristine at ng lawyer ko not
to reveal the thing that the question is asking about."
We guess the question is about what she really said to
Cristine when she went to the taping of "All Star K" and the controversial
confrontation happened.

Rufa Mae Quinto herself was put on the Hot Seat when a
tabloid headlined that she went to Hong Kong with First Gentleman Mike Arroyo,
insinuating that some-thing's going on between them. "Totoong nagkasabay kami
sa eroplano going to Hong Kong at magkatabi kami sa first class," she
says. "Pero nagkataon lang 'yon, huwag n'yo namang lagyan ng malisya. Kaya ko
rin namang magbayad ng first class na P22,000. Gusto ko lang
magbakasyon at mag-relax sa Hong Kong. 'Yun pala, maiintriga pa
ako ng ganito. Ni hindi nga niya ako nakilala. Nang mag-hello ako, sabi
niya, 'Iha, ano nga ang pangalan mo?' Sabi ko, si Rufa Mae po. And he
said 'Ay, oo, kilala kita.' Kaya huwag n'yo na kaming intrigahin."

In the Couples Edition of "Don't Lie to Me," topnotch
beauty experts Drs. Manny and Pie Calayan took the lie detector test. Dr. Pie
was the first to take the test and she had a perfect score. Dr. Manny followed
later and he only had one wrong answer, the last question. Here are the
questions to them and their answers:
"Nagka-lovers quarrel ba kayo when Dr. Manny joined
Celebrity Duets dahil nawalan siya ng time for the family?" Both of them
answered "No." The Truth Verifier said they're telling the truth.
"Is it true there were other contestants in 'Celebrity Duets'
na hindi nakasundo si Dr. Manny?" Their answer was "No." Again, the
truth.
"Did Dr. Manny not attend the Grand Finals then because he
got eliminated?" They answered "No." Again, the truth.
"Do you feel insecure with your closest rival, Dr. Vicki
Belo?" Again, their answer was "No." The truth.
It was in the last question that they differed. "May pinaretoke ba or
inenhance si Dr. Pie?" Dr. Manny said "No." Not true. His wife said "Yes."
She had eyebags removal. The truth. He added later that he forgot to have done
it on her because it was more than 10 years ago |
