“Biktima” is a psychological drama where everyone is a victim – the wife, the husband, their child, the friend.
A product of the mind of young director RD Alba, “Biktima” tells the story of Alice, working mom and journalist played by Angel Aquino, who goes off to follow a story in a dangerous place in spite of the warning of her husband Mark (Montano).
Mark is devastated and turns to the best friend of Alice, Sandra, played by Mercedes Cabral, after learning that Alice might have perished in an ambush. Things get serious between husband and best friend but then Alice is found alive after six months. Husband and wife get back together but Alice erupts after piecing together the missing pieces of what happened in the months she was gone.
Indie favorite Mercedes was very excited to be in a triangle with Angel and Cesar. She considers it an honor to be sharing the screen with the two stars. Angel, who has been very visible in the big screen lately, expresses admiration for her co-stars and director. Lastly, Cesar, who has worked earlier with RD Alba in the former’s much-awarded “Panaghoy sa Suba” (2004) welcomes the chance to work with his old friend, the associate producer of “Panaghoy.”
“He knows what he is doing. He is sure about his vision for the movie and masarap siyang katrabaho.”
Also in “Biktima” are Sunshine Cruz, Ricky Davao and Philip Anthony. It is distributed by Star Cinema and opens in theaters today.
