Bea keeps mum

Monday was a full day for Bea Binene. She had a pictorial, an interview and a story conference for her new GMA soap – the first the Kapuso Network is fielding against the competition –“Angelina del Cielo.” 

Piloting this month, “Angelina del Cielo” reunites her with Jake Vargas. This is GMA’s way of saying that the network is supporting the tween star amidst the nasty rumors perpetuated by two persons against the minor. 

After the story conference, Bea was whisked off to record the theme song of the show and afterwards, she had dinner with a group of writers – this one included. It was a dinner among friends with everything kept off the record and we know why.

The lawyer that started this all had his own press conference and done the rounds of interviews. Bea’s camp has read and heard everything but with the advice of GMA, no interview will be done by the tween. They will just gather printed reports of the presscon and TOA (tape on air) of the interview so charges can finally be prepared and filed. Meanwhile, what about the other case, this one about the stalking DJ?

Regine Velaquez has a third GMA show, the cooking-talk-musical show “Sarap Diva.” After her longish vacation as she gave birth to her child Nate to husband Ogie Alcasid, the Asian Songbird returns big time with back to back Sunday shows (“Party Pilipinas” and “Hot TV”) as she takes her place again as the country’s top diva. With “Sarap Diva” starting tomorrow before “Eat Bulaga,” Regine becomes GMA’s weekend queen. 

A confessed non-professional cook who learns by watching various cooking shows on cable – her favorites are “Giada At Home” and “The Barefoot Contessa” – Regine said she will either cook for her guests or her guests will do the cooking in the show. Either way, the interview will happen during the cooking part. The singing portion ends the show as the Songbird gives one final song, solo or with a guest, before they start eating.

Baby Nate and pet George will be in the show, too. Their floating images from Regine’s Instagram account will give comments. 

Is Regine afraid that somebody might insult Nate? 

Let them do that, says Regine, who is for the Cybercrime Law. Now, she can legally research the IP address of the offending netizen, lodge a complaint against him/her and if needed, sue.

The moment we heard of GMA’s “Haram” about the forbidden love between a Christian and a Muslim, doubts and questions started popping in our mind if this could really push thru. Kylie’s original character, a Maranaw, was changed when the other groups started questioning their choice. Then Kylie’s father, Robin Padilla, a Muslim, was bombarded with questions, too. And so, the show was shelved. 

Good thing GMA is ready with another prime offering, the local version of the Korean soap, “Temptation of Wife,” to star Marian Rivera, Dennis Trillo, Alessandra de Rossi, and Rafael Rosell in his first GMA show. 

But in the middle of pre-production, Alex begged off. A replacement was needed and so Glaiza de Castro was called in. 

Meanwhile, like the first two chapters of “Luna Blanca,” the chapter with Heart Evangelista and Bianca King has gotten an extension, too. Luck’s in the side of “Luna Blanca.”
