THE Miss Earth 2012 winners have been crowned and Pageant Watch met these new beautiful stewards of the Earth at the Valley Golf Club in Antipolo City last weekend for a pictorial with Ever Bilena, the official cosmetics of the pageant.

Miss Earth 2012 Tereza Fajksova, 23, is enjoying every minute of her stay here. “I am a nature lover, so I love the places I have been to in the Philippines because you see nature everywhere. Our trip to Pangasinan was the most unforgettable. I just love the beach and the people were all so warm and welcoming,” said the green-eyed, blonde-haired university graduate from Brno.

Statuesque at 5’11”, Fajksova is a Public Administration graduate and hopes to pursue a second degree in Economics. When asked what the first thing she’ll do when she goes back to her country, she quickly replied, “I will sleep for 24 hours!” Tereza is just so thankful the pageant is over and can’t wait to celebrate her victory with her family, friends and the rest of her countrymen back home.

How will the new Miss Earth spend Christmas?

“On Christmas day, I will have dinner with my family and spend the whole day with them at home,” said Tereza, the first Czech to wear the Miss Earth crown.

Miss Earth-Air 2012 Stephany Dianne Stefanowitz, 23, is very pleased with her placing. “I am just so happy I have made the Philippines proud, placing second among 80 smart and beautiful women,” said the Fashion Design graduate of De La Salle College of St. Benilde.

Like Tereza, Steph will be celebrating Christmas with her family, noche buena and all, but plans to go to Dumaguete City to spend the New Year.

Miss Earth-Water Osmariel Villalobos, 24, is a talent working at a broadcasting company in Maracaibo, Venezuela. “When I go home, I will take a long rest and then prepare for Christmas. Venezuelans celebrate Christmas in very similar traditions as Filipinos. We go to the church at midnight, and then after that, we go home to have a big, big meal like a fiesta!” related Osmariel.

Miss Earth-Fire 2012 Camila Brant Goncalves, 22, is a Journalism graduate from Divinopolis, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The most animated among the winners, Camila is always ready to share her stories about her country and her experiences at the Miss Earth Pageant.

Camila related how she lost the pair of shoes that she should have worn to go with her evening gown during the finals, finally opting for a spare pair that was not to her liking. Quite eagerly, she also said that her family goes to church for the midnight mass on Christmas, followed by a big feast at home that includes a roasted pig “very much like your own lechon!”

Meanwhile, the Miss Tourism World Philippines organization has sent off its winners to their respective international pageant assignments. Joy Marie Fernandez Gangan, 18, from Ilagan City, Isabela, is now in Istanbul, Turkey to vie for Miss Best Model of the World tomorrow, December 8, hoping to duplicate the feat of Filipino model Bridgette Inoferio who won the title in 2005. On the other hand, Meryl Angeline Villanueva King, 23, is now in Bangkok, Thailand along with 65 other delegates worldwide aiming to win the Miss Tourism World crown on December 15.
