The star power of ABS-CBN Star Magic was felt at its strongest on ASAP 2012 last July 8 as the premiere star maker celebrated it’s 20th anniversary. It was the grandest reunion of stars – from “Ang TV” alums, Star Circle batch members and today’s hottest celebrities – that had everyone glued to their seats from start to finish and had made star magic trending worldwide on twitter.
Everyone went down memory lane in the special opening number by Star Magic groups The Hunks (Piolo Pascual, Diether Ocampo, Carlos Agassi and Jericho Rosales), Heartthrobs (John Lloyd Cruz, Sam Milby and Piolo), The Cover Boys (Zanjoe Marudo, Victor Basa, Rafael Rosell and Jake Cuenca),Teleserye Princes (Sam Milby, Enchong Dee, Rayver Cruz, Xian Lim and Gerald Anderson), Ultimate Dancers (Shaina Magdayao, Rayver Cruz and Maja Salvador), Giggerboys (Enchong Dee, Sam Concepcion, Robi Domingo, Arron Villaflor, Benjamin de Guzman and Enrique Gil) and the Anime (Rodjun Cruz, John Wayne Sace, Emman Abeleda, Sergio Garcia, Mico Aytona, Mhyco Aquino and Rayver Cruz). Songbirds Jan Marini, Lindsay Custodio, Dianne dela Fuente, Denise Laurel, Rica Peralejo, Kaye Abad and Nikki Gil to today’s chart toppers, Marcelito Pomoy, Bugoy Drilon, Liezel Garcia, Erik Santos, Jed Madela, Angeline Quinto, Nyoy Volante, Yeng Constantino and Jovit Baldivino also serenaded the crowd, proudly showing off how Star Magic molded them into professionals.
Everyone was in awe as stars like Piolo, Bea Alonzo, Diether, Erich Gonzales, Kathryn Bernardo, Xian, Julia Montes, Shaina, Jake, Kim Chiu, Gerald, Angelica Panganiban, John Lloyd including new discoveries and former Star Magic stars like KC Concepcion, Ciara Sotto, Angelu De Leon, Gio Alvarez, Carlo Aquino, Rodney Shattara, Marc Solis, Diego Castro, Farrah Florer, Andrea Del Rosario, Maricel Morales, Wilma Doesnt and Mylene Dizon gathered on one stage, boasting Star Magic’s milestone in the entertainment industry. The much-awaited fashion show featured gowns and suits of known designers like Jerome Salaya-Ang, M Barretto, Eric Delos Santos, Nat Manilag, Randy Ortiz, Mel Orlina, John Herrera, Joel Bautista, , Edwin Tan, Bing Cristobal, Von Lazaro, Maureen Disini, Anthony Nocom, Edgar Buyan, Avel Bacudio, Amir Sali, Dong Omaga Diaz, Frederick Policarpio, Cherry Samuya-Veric, Tina Dañac, Marvin Garcia, Anthony Ramirez, Joey Samson, JC Buendia, Cary Santiago, Martin Bautista, Boom Sason, Jovan Sulit, Pepsi Herrera, Francis Libiran and Rajo Laurel. Stylists namely Kim and Boop Yap, Rex Atienza, Ton Lao, Rain Dagala, Joey Espiritu, Bang Pineda, Carlos Concepcion, Roko Arceo, Khyven Arth Nuguid, Myrrh Lao-To, Regi Cruz, Perry Tabora, Sidney Yap and Liz Uy were responsible for the stars’ total glam look. Star Magic’s official theme song “Ikaw ang Magic ng Buhay Ko” culminates the grandest celebration of talent management’s twenty awesome years.
Special video messages from Marvin Agustin, Camille Prats, Luis Alandy, Bojo Molina, Carmen Soo, Tony Lambino, John Prats and Claudine Barretto were also a highlight of the celebration. All have spread their wings to other opportunities and cited how their talents were nurtured by Star Magic.
But the Star Magic anniversary activities does not stop there as the Kapamilya talent management prepares for the 4th Star Magic Games on July 29, the most prestigious Star Magic Ball on September 1, Star Magic Catalogue Launch on October 30, Star Magic fun run and charity show on November 24, the Star Magic movie before the year ends and many more!
