PRANKSTERS yesterday hacked websites of at
least three government agencies in an apparent protest against
President Arroyo.
Redirected to the website of popular theme
park Enchanted Kingdom were the websites of the Department of
Justice (http://www.doj.gov.ph/), the Philippine National Police
Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (http://www.cidg.pnp.gov.ph)
and Information Technology and Electronic Commerce Council
(http://www.itecc.gov.ph/).
President Arroyo, in a speech at a conference
of employers last May, called on employers and the public to
join her in bringing the Philippines to the "Enchanted Kingdom."
In that speech, Arroyo said: "Let’s stay
together. Let’s dream together. And what do I mean by being in
the Enchanted Kingdom, we can operationalize that? Let’s be
among the countries of the First World in 20 years."
Arroyo repeated this in a message marking the
2007 Christmas holidays.
The DOJ website was restored yesterday but
the PNP-CIDG and ITECC sites remain pointed to the theme park
website.
System administrators at the DOJ were monitoring the site and
have not received any lead on the hacker.
