Wikipedia entry on
Trillanes, lawyer vandalized

THE lawyer of detained Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV, Reynaldo Robles, has the tag "liar" on the popular online encyclopedia Wikipedia.

The tag was made by a "Ladvan" who edited the article about Trillanes on December 10.

"On October 10, 2007, Antonio Trillanes IV filed a petition with the Supreme Court of the Philippines, asking for permission to attend Senate sessions. His liar lawyer was Reynaldo Robles," the Ladvan-edited paragraph under the subheading Genuine Opposition (GO) in the article read.

Robles said: "I will look at it. Pag wala sa lugar, puede ko idemanda. I will take legal action," he said.

A search on Ladvan’s identity on the Wikipedia site did not provide any information.

In the article’s page history, Ladvan originally labeled Robles a "liar pig lawyer." Its date of entry was 6:56 p.m. of December 10, or 11 days after the Manila Peninsula standoff led by Trillanes.

Wikipedia editors have removed the tag "pig" but have apparently overlooked "liar" which was still in the article as of yesterday.

Ladvan also altered the account on the November 29 standoff. On that day, Trillanes and other leaders of the Magdalo group that staged the 2003 Oakwood mutiny walked out of a court hearing their coup d’état case and marched to the Peninsula where they holed out for about six hours before surrendering.

In his account of the Peninsula incident, Ladvan said Trillanes "walked out of his own trial because he had a diarrhea and needed to use the bathroom and again staged a siege at another hotel in Makati City, calling for President Arroyo’s ouster and he needs his Senate budget thats (sic) why he took over Manila Peninsula."

The original Wikipedia article said Trillanes "walked out of his own trial and triggered a standoff at the Peninsula Manila hotel in Makati City, where he called for President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s ouster."

In his entries, Ladvan also called former UP president Francisco Nemenzo Jr. a "liar" and former vice president Teofisto Guingona as "bangkay" (corpse).

Nemenzo and Guingona were among civilians who were holed out with Trillanes’ group at the hotel.

Ladvan also edited Trillanes’ profile on December 15, changing the entries "Occupation: Soldier" and "Profession: Military" to "mananayaw (dancer) sa gay bar" for both occupation and profession.

He also changed "Genuine Opposition" to "Gagong Opposition."
