20 athletes make
up new Patafa roster


THE Philippine Amateur Track and Field Association has submitted for approval to the Philippine Sports Commission its new 20-member national squad.

Southeast Asian Games record holders Henry Dagmil and Marestella Torres lead the squad, which also includes Rene Herrera (3,000 meters), Arniel Ferrera (hammer throw), Julius Nierras (400m), Mercedita Manipol (5000-m), Danilo Fresnido (javelin throw), Ernie Candelario (400-m), Rosie Villarito (javelin) and Mary Grace Melgar (400-m hurdles).

Also endorsed to make up the RP squad are Arnold Villarube (decathlon), Joebert Delicano (triple jump), Midel Dique (800-m), Julius Sermona (10,000-m), Eduardo Buenavista (marathon), Jho-an Banayag (marathon), Rodrigo Tanuan Jr. (400-m), Junrey Bano (400-m), Eliezer Sunang (shot put) and Fil-American Deborah Ann Samson (pole vault).
