Razon to Ayala: Where’s
proof bomb caused blast?

PNP chief Avelino Razon Jr. yesterday dared Ayala Land Inc. (ALI), owner of the Glorietta 2 mall, to present proof that the October 19 explosion which killed 11 and injured 120 others was caused by a bomb.

"Wala naman silang (ALI) ebidensiya. So, hindi mababali yung findings natin unless it is controverted by other evidence," Razon said.

Razon was reacting to news Monday night that the mall was bombed as there was a high concentration of RDX (research and development explosive) on the blast site.

RDX is a component of a C4 explosive.

The news based its report on the findings of ALI.

Razon said based on the "almost final" results, the blast was caused by gas explosion.

He said the final results will be announced tomorrow by Southern Police District Chief Supt. Luizo Ticman probably at the Glorietta 2.

Razon said the investigation was based on the evidence at the blast site.

He refused to identify who will be held liable for the explosion.

Razon said ALI has to controvert their evidence which includes findings on the diesel tank, electrical switches, the gas leakage at the septic vault, the degradation of ventilation at the basement, and most important, to present a crater which supports the theory of a bomb explosion and the presence of bomb components. – Raymond Africa
