HOPING to accomplish an unfinished business, Blustar
Detergent, a perennial semifinalist in the PBL before taking a leave of absence
in 2004, is making a comeback in the league and will now be known as Noosa
Shoes.
To ensure its comeback stint would be successful, the team
will hold a two-day tryout starting tomorrow at the Arellano Gym on Legarda,
Manila.
Coach Leo Isaac will conduct the tryouts from 10 a.m. to
noon.
The Dioceldo Sy-owned franchise is determined to form a
competitive team and match, if not surpass, what it accomplished during the
league before it disbanded in 2004. Blustar Detergent was in the league of
Welcoat Paints and Hapee Toothpaste when it was still active in the PBL.
"We hope to accomplish our unfinished business in the PBL,
that’s why we have to form a formidable squad," said Sy, whose team never won a
title in a six-year stint in the league but was admired for its never-say-die
attitude.
Isaac is eyeing the services of some of the country’s finest
collegiate players.
"There are a lot of talented players around, so I’m confident we can form a
formidable unit. We will also tap several veteran players to provide stability
to the team," said Sy, who once served as league chairman.
