P1B ‘Erap assets’ found
Estrada: ‘They can have it; the owner is Dichaves’
BY PETER TABINGO
MORE than P1 billion in assets
suspected to belong to former President Joseph Estrada
was found intact at Banco de Oro and is now being eyed
for forfeiture.
This was contained in a two-page
report of Edgardo Urieta, chief of the Sheriff and
Security Services Office, to the Sandiganbayan Special
Division.
Attached to the report was a letter
of lawyer Gerardo I. Banzon, head of the BDO legal
advisory and research department, dated Dec. 14, 2007
confirming that the shares in stocks and trust deposits
remain intact.
It was a gas explosion,
says
final PNP report on Glorietta
BY RAYMOND AFRICA
A MIXTURE of methane gas and diesel
vapor caused the explosion at the Glorietta 2 mall in
Makati City last October, a multi-agency investigating
task force yesterday said in its final report on the
blast.
Fifteen persons, including officers of
the Makati fire station, were recommended charged in
connection with the explosion that killed 11 persons and
injured 108 others.
Ayala Land Inc. (ALI), which owns the
Glorietta malls, "will not be charged at the moment unless
there is additional evidence gathered," according to
Interior Secretary Ronaldo Puno.
THE soft opening of the Ninoy Aquino
International Airport Terminal 3 (NAIA 3) in the first quarter
this year will be delayed further due to structural defects
caused by an Intensity 4.5 earthquake that hit Luzon last
November.
This was the finding of the 20-member House
oversight committee on airport management for NAIA Terminal 3
headed by Quezon Rep. Danilo Suarez.
"We’ve seen the cracks. These are low and
we’ve seen the flooring na tumaas, yung tumambok yung mga
flooring," Suarez said.
