Direk Jerry remembered one particular incident which he
experienced, which still gives him the goose bumps up to now. He was then doing
a horror movie, called "Huwag Kang Lilingon" for Star Cinema.
One particular location they had was an old, old house in
Bulacan, but there were still people living in it.
One time, while waiting for the production designer assigned
to the movie, he prepared a place in the house where a particular scene was to
be shot. Direk Jerry called the designer. He instructed him to take
caution and to avoid a particular door, because he said, he saw an old person
peeped from the door of his room as if wondering why there were noises emanating
from the living room.
Later, he related the incident to the owner of the house and
requested her to relay his apology to the old person for the ingay they
have created.
Well, was direk Jerry horrified when he was told that
the door was permanently closed and that since the room’s occupant died, nobody
has used the room?
To this day, according to direk Jerry, who is the director of
the current most talked-about horror teleserye, "Patayin sa Sindak si
Barbara" (the other director is Gilbert Perez) on ABS CBN, he still cringes at
the thought of the incident.

In the case of young actress Maja Salvador, her most scariest
experience happened when she was 14 years old. She and her mom and only brother
were living with her Lola in their old ancestral home in Aklan.
"I saw a ghost. And I knew she was one since she was in a
long white gown. Pero, ‘di ko makita ang kanyang face. Basta na-notice
ko na nakaangat ang kanyang mga paa sa lupa.
"She didn’t scare me, though. Although di ako makakilos ng
kung ilang minuto, hindi ako natakot sa kanya," related Maja.
Maja plays a young questor, in "Patayin sa Sindak si
Barbara."

Jodi Sta. Maria who plays the disturbed spirit in in the same
teleserye, admits she’s the scary type. Thus, as much as possible, she
doesn’t want to listen to stories about ghosts. "Patayin…" is her first time to
do a horror kind of TV series.
"You might wonder why I agreed to do ‘Patayin…,’ gano’ng
matatakutin nga ako," said Jodi. "Well, having Susan Roces and Kris Aquino
for my co-stars was a big come-on for me. They are two of the actresses I admire
so much."
"Kaya nga, everytime we are in a scene together, I’m
in awe. Since they are both so good, I just try hard na maging magaling din,"
she added.
But she almost backed out from the project, Jodi confessed,
though. This was when her pakiusap not to have her do her kabaong
scene was refused by the director and executive producer, Emerald Suarez.
In the end, however, she had no choice but to do it.
Especially when she herself realized that that scene was a "must" in the series.
How does she think her son, nearly three-year-old Panfilo III
(his grandpa is none other than Sen. Panfilo Lacson) will take that scene when
he sees it? Jodi related that her son sits besides her everytime she watches "Patayin."
"Funny but he was around when that funeral scene was shot.
Akala niya isang makipot na bed lang ‘yong kabaong. Gusto pa ngang tumabi
sa akin," Jodi laughed. "Unlike me, matapang ang batang iyan. Just
like his dad and his lolo."
Pampi, Jodi’s husband, is the youngest son of the senator.
