‘I’m not ashamed to announce that I’m looking na talaga for Mr.

Rufa Mae looking
for Mr. Right

RUFA Mae Quinto cannot
imagine herself growing old minus a family. That’s why, at 30 something, she is
anxious to get married. This is not only because she knows her biological clock
is ticking, but also because she is the only one in her batch in "That’s
Entertainment" who is not married yet.
How come that she never found among her many boyfriends
anyone fit enough to be her husband?
"Maraming dahilan why I chose not to marry early," she
answered. "Since my siblings and I belong to a broken family, I promised myself
na kung ‘di man ako nakatapos ng pag-aaral, sila man lang sana.
"Awa naman ng Diyos, lahat sila college graduates at
may sarili nang trabaho.
"Sayang nga lang dahil I prioritized my promise to my
siblings at the expense of my love life. E, may ilan din sa naging karelasyon
ko who were potential good husbands.
"This time, however, I’m not ashamed to announce that I’m
looking na talaga for Mr. Right."
And what is her idea of an ideal husband?
"Well," she replied, "simple lang naman. Firstly, I
have to be attracted to him. Meaning, kahit ‘di napakaguwapo, may hitsura
kahit papaano.
"At siguro, dapat din lang that he can support a
family. And, most importantly, I want him to love me for what I am. And for what
I hope to be."

Right now, Rufa Mae describes herself as happily single. She
is quick to disclaim the report that her soon-to-be released flick, "Status:
Single," is based on her.
"Status: Single" revolves around the life of 30-year-old
virgin Teodora "Doris" Medina, who hopes to marry her long-time boyfriend but is
eventually dumped by him. What makes things even worse is that her girlfriends
are getting married one after the other.
Five good-looking hunks play Rufa Mae’s leading men in
"Status: Single": Paolo Contis, Rafael Rosell, Alfred Vargas, Mark Bautista and
Jon Avila.
Her girlfriends are portrayed by Desiree del Valle, Mylene
Dizon and LJ Moreno.
"Status: Single" is directed by Joey Javier Reyes, who also
wrote the story and script. It is the second joint venture of Viva Films and
Rufa Mae’s own film firm, On-Q 28 Productions. They also co-produced the movie,
"Apat Dapat, Dapat Apat," which starred Rufa Mae, Candy Pangilinan, Pokwang and
Eugene Domingo, which was a smash hit.

The past year was a pretty good one for Angel Locsin. She may
have done only one teleserye, "Lobo," with Piolo Pascual and several TV
guestings, but that was actually more than what she expected, she said.
About her love life, she is now open about her romance with
Luis Manzano. The two didn’t make secret their last trip to Macau with Luis’
family, which included his mom, Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos (who is vocal about
her fondness for Angel), his stepdad, NEDA Chief Ralph Recto and half-brother,
Ryan Christian.
Marriage may not yet be an option for both Angel and Luis,
but at 27, Luis is already of marrying age. Angel is 23.

Angel finally has completed her first movie with Piolo
Pascual under Star Cinema, "Love Me Again," which is showing on Jan. 16. Its
premiere at the Megamall is on Jan. 15.
"Love Me Again" is an intense love story about Migo (Piolo)
and Arah (Angel), whose romance in the Philippines is rudely interrupted by
financial problems.
"Love Me Again" is directed by Rory Quintos. It is sort of a
comeback movie for the talented director, whose last movie, "Dubai," won awards
for its lead stars: Aga Muhlach, best actor; Claudine Barretto, best actress;
and John Lloyd Cruz, best supporting actor, all courtesy of the Star Awards of
the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC).
The movie was filmed in Bukidnon and Australia. It’s the only local movie
which had its advance screening in Los Angeles, California (last December). |
