Richard, Angel take
on mature roles

ONCE again, GMA Films ties up with Regal Entertainment Inc. to deliver the movie event of this Valentine season, “The Promise.” “The Promise” is an adaptation of the romance classic “Wuthering Heights” (Emily Brontë) and the unforgettable 1991 Richard Gomez-Dawn Zulueta starrer “Hihintayin Kita Sa Langit,” the screenplay of which was done by Raquel Villavicencio, who wrote “The Promise” as well.

Mutli-awarded Carlos Siguion-Reyna directed "Hihintayin Kita Sa Langit" in 1991. This time, young and talented Mike Tuviera takes the reins in directing the most prized love team in the country today.

"The Promise" presents young superstars Richard Gutierrez and Angel Locsin in their most serious and daring roles, different from what they do for television. Moviegoers will surely look forward to the Richard-Angel team-up in "The Promise" and the transition they have made from the usual kilig love team formula projects to the more solid and mature ones, beginning with this endeavor.

The project is quite ambitious as it veers away from the love team formula that catapulted both Angel and Richard to stardom. The onscreen presence of the two artists shines beautifully in this film, shot in scenic locations in Batangas, Tagaytay, Antipolo, and Bolinao that set the mood for a superb romantic movie.

Romance is definitely back and GMA Films, together with Regal Films, join forces to give the Filipino viewers the best of romance with "The Promise" this Valentine season.
