Vinzons’ life and death
dramatized in Baguio


"Bintao," a musical in three acts on the life and death of patriot Wenceslao Vinzons, will be staged at 6:30 p.m. on January 26 and 27 at the University of the Cordilleras Theater on Gov. Pack Road, Baguio City.

Written by Efren Yambot and directed by Ferdie Balanag, the play celebrates the life of Vinzons, after whom Vinzons Hall at the UP Diliman campus is named, from the time he was a student leader in the 1930s to his execution as a guerilla leader during the Japanese Occupation.

The cast include: Roman Ordana (Vinzons), Suzette Punzalan (Liwayway Gonzales), Marko Zipagan (Arturo Tolentino), Rey Aurelio (Salvador P. Lopez), Karlo Marko Altomonte (Rafael Palma) and Earl Amazona (Manuel Quezon). Altomonte is also the musical director with additional music provided by Shant Verdun.
