to teeny bopper roles

Dennis can now safely say that both his career and private life are without any hitch. His primetime show, "Zaido, Pulis Pangkalawakan" is ending next week and he’s confident it will sustain its high ratings up to the last episode. This week Dennis as Gallian or Zaido Blue rescues Zion (Ian de Leon) from their enemies who sentenced him to death for allegedly killing Luna (Isabel Granada) who is actually still alive. Gallian is reunited with Carmela (Diana Zubiri) and his wife, Ariana (also played by Diana) sees them. Meantime, the Zaido Kids are put in danger when the evil Armida poisons them. In turn, Cervano (Alur Abrenica) and Amy (Kris Bernal) are confronted by a former friend, Toby, who has now transformed into another opponent, Shadow. They cannot transform themselves into Zaidos because they no longer have the badge needed to give them special powers.

Cristine Reyes took the lie detector test in the "Don’t Lie to Me" segment of "Showbiz Central" last Sunday and she was caught lying three times. The questions where she allegedly lied were: "Is she sincere in her friendship with Katrina Halili?" She said yes. "When you were taping for ‘Marimar,’ did you avoid Bing Loyzaga?" Her answer: No. "Is Willie Revillame courting you?" She said no, adding that she does go out with Willie but they’re always in a group and she’s with her ate, Ara Mina.

The questions where she told the truth are: "Have you reconciled with Dennis Trillo?" She said no. "Are you the reason why Janno Gibbs and Bing Loyzaga separated?" Again, she said no.

In the "Hot Seat" portion, Mark Anthony Fernandez was grilled by Rufa Mae Quinto and DJ Mo. Is he really having frequent fights now with non-showbiz wife Melissa since he’s so busy taping "Kamandag" that he has no time anymore for his family? "No naman," he says. "I love my family. Bihira kaming magkaroon ng fights ng misis ko." Did you have a relationship with these women?

Alma Concepcion? "Na-link kami but only for two days. Fling lang." Vina Morales? "Nanligaw ako sa kanya pero hindi naging kami." Rosanna Roces? "Something happened in a five-star hotel in Cebu. Totoo ‘yon. It’s not my dad. Ako ‘yon." He bravely chose to reveal and answer the killer question: "Is it true you got so depressed after your split up with Claudine Barretto kaya nalulong ka sa drugs?"

"Not true. It wasn’t just Claudine. Hindi ako nag-ingat. Masyado akong naging experimental. Naging frustration ko rin na hindi natupad yung dream kong maging PBA player."

Last Sunday’s edition of "Showbiz Central" also featured an exclusive phone patch interview with Camille Prats who just delivered her baby in Los Angeles. "Sobrang happy ako now that I’m a mommy at nandito na si Nathan (name of her son)," she told host John Lapus. "Normal ang delivery ko. It was very easy, but it had to be induced labor kasi the amniotic fluid wasn’t enough anymore. Anthony (Linsangan, dad of her child) was with me at katabi ko siya the whole time. He was the one who cut the umbilical cord."

How does the baby look? "Sabi nila, halo raw. The eyes and lips are mine."

Is it true she and Anthony already got married? "Yes, we had a civil wedding on January 5. We planned na pakasal before I give birth. We will have a church wedding in Manila this year. Inaayos muna namin lahat ng papers ni Nathan, like his passport, bago kami umuwi."

"Showbiz Central" is always full of showbiz stories so it’s no wonder it’s always rating high. Last Sunday also showed that Regine Tolentino is so worried about her mom, Mommy Regina, who’s now afflicted with lymphoma. They thought she’s been healed after she had an operation and chemotherapy as she was even able to visit Regine’s brother in the US. But her latest MRI showed that the lymphoma has spread from her femur and jaw to other parts of her body including her spine. She’s not losing hope, though. She’s going back to the US to seek the latest treatment there. Let’s all pray for the complete healing of Regine’s mom.

Dingdong Dantes was interviewed if he really had a gay benefactor who financed the lavish thanksgiving party he hosted for the press where he raffled off so many home appliances. "Kalokohan ‘yon," he says. "Lahat ng pinamigay ko roon, galing sa pagod at pawis ko as I really work hard. Kung sinuman ang nagsulat niyan, humarap siya sa akin at iharap din niya iyong sinasabi niyang gay benefactor ko."

We feel sad for Dingdong as he already did a good deed for the press and yet some writers still found time to spread false stories about him.

Shaina Mag-dayao plays her first mature role as a 23-year-old PMA soldier in "Lobo." "It’s my way of saying goodbye to teeny bopper roles since I’m already 18," she says.

She has a kissing scene with Piolo in "Lobo" and this is the first time she’s doing such a scene.

Shaina says, "I asked my Ate (Vina Morales) about it and she said if I want to make good as an actress, hindi puwedeng puro lagi na lang ako pa-sweet, so I consented to do it."

So how did it feel while they were doing it? "Siyempre, I was so tensed and nervous before the take, but I trusted Piolo kasi he’s like a kuya to me. Sweet and tender naman ang kiss at hindi torrid. He’s a real gentleman and was very careful kasi na-feel naman niyang nanginginig ako, pero na-take four pa rin ang eksena bago na-good ng director namin," she says.

Shaina attended both presscons of "Lobo" even if she was told by her doctor to rest in bed for two weeks after she had an accident while taping "Lobo." "We were doing a fight scene and I’m supposed to do some kickboxing. Nagkamali ang ikot ng leg ko and I felt excruciating pain in my back. May naipit na ugat daw or something sa likod ko kaya I was taken to the hospital. Hindi na ako pinabalik sa taping at mag-rest daw nga ako ng two weeks," says Shaina. But I feel okay now, so trabaho na uli."

Now that she’s accepting mature roles, does this mean she’s ready to go sexy? "Konti lang, hindi naman yung bold. I agreed to do the pictorial of Manual Magazine in February, pero hindi naman sobra. Tama lang for my age. Kapag sobra na, hindi ko yata kaya."

But do you know who her real crush is? From the rival network: Richard Gutierrez. "Nagkasama kami sa isang fashion show ng Bench at naging crush ko siya. Pero huwag n’yo pong sasabihin, nakakahiya," says the shy Shaina.
