FILIPINO-American international singer and actor Billy
Crawford is the newest addition to the powerhouse stable of
celebrity endorsers of Belo Medical Group, owned by noted
cosmetic surgeon Dr. Vicki Belo.
Billy started his career at the tender age of three as a
child performer in the now-defunct afternoon variety program,
"That's Entertainment," where he was known for his remarkable
dancing skills and irresistible charm. He later appeared in a
number of Filipino movies in the late '80s under the name "Billy
Joe."
He left the country with his family and moved to Texas
in1994. He honed his singing and dancing skills and soon won in
a Dallas talent show, which later gained him an exposure in one
of Michael Jackson's music videos.
In 1999, Billy released his self-titled debut album which
produced hit singles like "Urgently in Love" and "Mary Lopez."
The two singles went straight to the top of the charts in Europe
and in the Philippines.
Billy released his sophomore album "Ride" in 2001, which
produced the hit "Trackin'." His single became a hit in European
countries, especially Germany, Belgium, France and the
Netherlands and eventually dominated the radio and club charts.
The album sold over 100,000 copies in the Netherlands alone and
nearly a million units worldwide.
Billy made a comeback as an actor when he appeared in
"Dominion," the prequel of the movie "The Exorcist" in 2003. He
also won as Best Male International Artist at the NRJ music
awards in Cannes, France.
In 2004, Billy released his third album, "Big City," where he
worked with respected international producers in the music
industry. The carrier single, "Bright Lights," with its hot and
steamy music video, did well in the music charts.
He went back to the Philippines in 2007 to host GMA 7's
reality dance competition "Move: The Search for Billy Crawford's
Pinoy Dancers," the winners got the chance to perform with him
in his major concert in Araneta Coliseum last October. Also last
year, he was given a star plaque at the Eastwood Walk of Fame,
initiated by his mentor German Moreno.
Presently, the 26-year-old Billys is one of the hosts of "Pinoy
Dream Academy Season Two" and is the main anchor of "Uberture"
on ABS-CBN. He is also regularly seen performing in "ASAP" and
is set to appear in the Sunday afternoon show, "Your Song."
Billy's entry into the Belo Medical Group comes at an
opportune time when the leading beauty clinic is now in the
process of realizing its vision of going global. The clinic has
seven branches in Manila - Rustan's and Medical Plaza in Makati,
Trinoma and Tomas Morato in Quezon City, Greenhills in San Juan,
Podium in Ortigas and Westgate in Alabang - plus a booking
facility in Subic. It plans to open a branch in Beverly Hills
before the year ends. Just in time for Billy's launching of his
album in the United States.
