SHIAN Ramos feels lucky to be selected as Dingdong Dantes’
leading lady in the local adaptation of the Koreanovela "Stairway to Heaven."
"Pero bawal pang sabihin," she says. But we tell her that GMA exec
Redgie Magno already told us about it. So how does she feel?
"Siempre, happy ako that even before ‘Zorro’
has ended, may bago na agad akong assignment. Sa bagay, ganyan din
ang nangyari nung patapos na ang ‘La Lola,’ I was told kasama ako sa
‘Zorro.’ At least, paiba-iba ang leading men ko. After JC De
Vera and Richard Gutierrez, I’m now looking forward to working with Dingdong,
para maiba naman, di ba? And the role of Jodi in ‘Stairway to Heaven’
is really a challenge so I’m really looking forward to portraying her as a
tragic heroine."
She says she’ll miss her role as Lolita in "Zorro." "I
enjoyed wearing my frilly costumes kahit na nga mainit siya at pawis na
pawis ako when we’re taping."
As Lolita, she continues to grieve for the death of her
father (Leo Martinez) while her mom (Carla Martinez) starts to suspect that
Silverio (Elvis Gutierrez) has a secret. He’s actually a traitor to the
caballeros and is cooperating with the villain Ramon (TJ Trinidad), even
planting false evidence so that Bernardo (Antonio Aquitania) will be the one
suspected as the traitor, something which Juana (Michelle Madrigal) denies.
The guardia civil forcibly abduct the town’s kids and bring them to
Baluarte Aragon where they are made to do forced labor inside a gold mine with
a very narrow passage where only kids can pass. Cara (Bianca King) learns
about this so she and Zorro help rescue the kids.

Ogie Alcasid came dressed and all made up as Tita Frida
(the woman role he plays in his efforts to get close to Judy Ann Santos in the
romantic comedy "Oh My Girl") when he was interviewed by the hosts of "Showbiz
Central" in the "Intriga Crossfire" portion last Sunday. The role is
reminiscent of "Tiya Loleng," the movie where 1950s matinee idol Armando
Goyena also disguised as a woman to get close to leading lady Tessie Quintana,
which was in turn based on the hit play "Charley’s Aunt."
Pia Guanio asks Ogie if his two daughters don’t react to
his playing woman roles. "Hindi," he says. "Natutuwa ang mga yun
kasi alam nila, trabaho lang ito. At saka mas mabuti na yung nagbibihis
babae lang kaysa nambababae."
What can he say to Regine Velasquez’ declaration that she
is ready to give up her career for their marriage?
"Dapat hindi, kasi she’s one of the best singers
sa buong mundo at maraming nag-e-enjoy sa pagkanta niya."
How does it feel to be a badaf (gay)?
"Hindi ako badaf. Babae ako. Panoorin nyo ang
‘Oh My Girl’ at babaeng-babae ako roon."
When is your wedding to Regine?
"Hindi puedeng ikuwento. Alam nyo namang may
pinagdaraang mga legalidad."
One thing the hosts forgot to ask Ogie is if it’s true that
he and Regine are actually already married. They cannot get married yet in
church as Ogie’s previous wedding to Michelle Van Eimeren at the Taal
Cathedral has not been annulled yet. But we’re told he and Regine already did
have a quiet civil wedding since there’s no impediment to that. In this
regard, they can now officially be called as Mr. and Mrs. Augusto Alcasid.

To promote "Oh My Girl" that opens today in theaters, Judy
Ann Santos was featured in "The Story of Your Life" portion. It showed her as
a child star in the early stages of her showbiz career. She was devastated
when her dad left their family and went to the States. She vowed to follow him
there someday to ask why he deserted them. Her Mommy Carol later also went to
Canada to work but when Juday started earning big money as a teen star, she
asked her mom to come home and join her again and her siblings. She became
practically their family’s breadwinner.
One surprising thing revealed in this segment is Juday’s
charitable side. She has adopted an Aeta community in Pampanga, giving them
food and school supplies, without having this publicized at all, unlike other
stars who do such acts complete with press people to cover the affair. "She
really has a benevolent heart," says Mommy Carol.
Juday cried tears of joy when "Showbiz Central" was able to
trace her childhood best friend, Jane Magpayo, who talked on VTR about their
school days. Juday was even more surprised when Jane showed up live in the
studio with another classmate, Teresa. It was indeed a happy reunion for all
of them as they haven’t seen each other since high school. "Thank you so
much," Juday tells "Showbiz Central." "Matagal ko na silang hinahanap.
Hindi nyo alam kung gaano nyo ako pinasaya."

Jomari Yllana was grilled by DJ Mo in the "Gimme Mo"
portion of "Showbiz Central." Is he interested in patching things up with
Martin Nievera? Jomari can answer with just either a simple yes or no, but he
chose to give a long-winded and circuitous replay.
"Tao lang tayo na dumaraan sa mga pagsubok and what
is important is you learn a lesson from these trials and you become a better
person no matter what happened. It’s something you cannot predict or plan." He
was still rambling on so Mo cut him short to ask if he’s ready to reconcile
with Martin. "Tapos na ‘yun. We both have said our piece. I don’t want
to have any negative feelings. I hope he also feels that way."
Was there ever a time you seriously considered marrying
Pops Fernandez?
"I really thought she’d be the last girl but unfortunately,
it didn’t work out. With Pops, I was at my best."
What do you need to change in yourself when it comes to
relationships?
"I’m not sure about changing myself. It’s about finding the
right match, the right person for me. Kapag pinagdasal mo, darating din
‘yun siguro sa’yo."

Carlene Aguilar once defended her friend Hayden Kho about
the sex video scandal. She now co-stars with Hayden’s victim, Katrina Halili,
in "Rosalinda," playing Rodora to Katrina’s Fedra. How’s their working
relationship?
"Okay naman kami kapag magkasama sa taping," she
says. "We play good friends in the show. But we never talk about Hayden. I’m
also a woman at siempre, I’m sensitive about such things. She knows
kaibigan ko si Hayden and I know hindi siya ang tipong magkakalat noong
videos. Kung pansarili mo lang, I think there’s nothing wrong with
that. Although masama rin ‘yung you videotaped the women without their
consent. At ang lalong masama, ‘yung videos being uploaded in the
internet which I believe hindi naman si Hayden ang gumawa."
Wasn’t it rumored that she also had a sex video with him?
"Yes, pero hindi naman talaga totoo. Niligawan din niya
ko, pero hindi ko siya sinagot. Walang anumang nangyari sa amin and he
knows that."
What can she say that Cristine Reyes, the ex of Dennis
Trillo with whom she has a son, made it as the FHM sexiest woman?
"Wala. Congrats. Ako rin nga, new entry
lang sa FHM Sexiest list, pero nakapasok agad sa top 20. Kaya
salamat din sa lahat ng mga bumoto."
This week in "Rosalinda," Fedra is surprised when she wakes
up in a motel in bed with Anibal (Marco Alcaraz) and not Fernando Jose (Geoff
Eigenmann), who figures in an accident while waiting for Rosalinda (Carla
Abellana), ending up in a hospital. Rosalinda thought he died but he turns out
to be okay and even proposes marriage to her, much to the delight of her
friends Florencio and Becky (Roderick Paulate and Sheena Halili). Fedra gets
so mad when she learns about Rosalinda’s reconciliation with Fernando Jose.
With the help of Rodora and Anibal, they make Rosalinda drunk then takes her
picture with Anibal kissing her. They send the picture to Fernando Jose who
naturally gets furiously jealous.
Meantime, Alfredo (Ariel Rivera) is elated that Soledad (Glydel Mercado) is
being freed from jail, but Valeria (Sheryl Cruz) is so angry that she loses
consciousness over Soledad’s gaining her freedom.
