Pokwang said she cannot afford to be lazy. She has to be busy
with work all the time.
She explained: "There are a number in our family who need my
support. Besides, I want to give my daughter the best that any mom can offer.
She's my only happiness. At pag-asa.
"That's why I want to give her a bright future. I want to
give her the best education possible. At the moment, sa isang private
school siya naka-enrol."
The girl is her daughter with a former Japanese boyfriend.
She had another child, a son, also sired by a Japanese. Her son died of brain
cancer while she was working as a dancer abroad.
"Nailibing na siya when finally I was able to come
home," Pokwang revealed sadly. "Hindi ako pinayagang makaalis ng club
na pinagta-trabahuhan ko sa Abu Dhabi hangga't 'di ko natapos ang aking
kontrata."
Currently the busiest among her contemporaries, Pokwang is a
mainstay of two TV shows, the daily afternoon program, "Wowowee" and "That's My

Maestro Ryan Cayabyab will play headmaster in the second
season of "Pinoy Dream Academy" which will have its opening night on Saturday,
June 14, and to be held live at the PDA Concert Hall.
Prior to the June 14 night, however, the top 32 aspiring
dreamers will be trimmed down to 15 in the "The Dream BIGins" on June 9 to 13 on
Primetime Bida.
Mentors of this particular season, on the other hand, include
Direk Joey Reyes, who will give lessons that will surely mold the
scholars' talents and personalities. UP College of Music vice chairman Kitchy
Molina is the voice master. Musician extraordinaire Monet Silvestre will be the
mentor.
"We will be tougher with them," said Maestro Cayabyab. "This
time, we will really make sure that out of the 15 scholars, we will produce not
just one or two good and professional singers. Talagang magiging rigid
ang pagtuturo namin."
Unit business head Inaren Dyogi said that unlike some of the
participants in the first PDA, where some of the scholars were also composers
and lyricists, this time they made sure that the scholars will only be developed
and tested in the Academy in their pursuit of a singing career.
Hosting the show are Toni Gonzaga, Nikki Gil and
international pop R & B sensation, Billy Crawford.
The trio will be seen daily with Toni doing primetime, Nikki
delivering the updates and Billy covering PDA's "Uberture."
Toni and Billy will also host the weekly performances and
"Expulsion Nights."

Remember Rica Peralejo's younger sister, Paula Peralejo?
Like her sister Rica, Paula also pursued a film career. She
was, in fact, in the cast of the youth-oriented afternoon drama series "Tabing
Ilog," co-starring her with now popular actors John Lloyd Cruz, Paolo Contis,
Desiree del Valle, among others.
Unlike Rica, though, Paula chose not to stay in the business
long. She decided to continue with her studies instead.
In the latest issue of Star Studio Magazine, we learned that
Paula, last April 26, finished a course in BA Philosophy minor in Tourism with
magna cum laude honors from the University of the Philippines.
She will fly to the US soon to attend a seminar on Child Psychology.
