When the
country's young designers and upcoming fashion labels get
together to launch their new location, there is no better way of
celebrating it but with a fashion show. That is exactly what
happened during the recent launch of Markati Palazzo at the
Podium's lounge in Ortigas Center. The show featured the latest
collections of the Markati Palazzo group, which includes some of
the popular names in local fashion.
Bobon by Puey Quinones highlighted its
distinctive style, infusing rich natural fabrics with detailed
pieces. The Stella collection with designers Louis Claparols,
Mitzi Quilendrino, and Eric de los Santos showcased stylish tops
and evening dresses.
Janna Mendoza of V presented her classic
line. Gail Angeles of Wisdom offered a refreshing selection of
floral and feminine pieces. The minimalist clothes and footwear
of Hazel Santos, Nicolo Jonsay, and Kathy Cavilte of Central
also stood out. Dimple Lim's edgy and imaginative Limb
collection was also presented.
Navarro's corporate collections were a hit
with the men. Rugged Door showed trendy and casual clothes for
men and women. Radar Pridewear broke gender conventions in
women's wear. Hotpink Lingerie was a hit with its playful
women's bourdoir pieces. Laura dazzled with its jewelry in
precious and semi precious stones as well as its beaded handbags
and purses.
The show was directed by Robbie Carmona with the help of SM
designer Tonichi Nocom. The Markati Palazzo launch and fashion
show is a project of the Podiun in cooperation with Hairshaft,
Crustasia, Burgoo, and Panasonic.
