Ruffa excited in reuniting with Carmina, Aiko

MOTHER Lily Monteverde reportedly plans to reunite her former Regal Babies, Ruffa Gutierrez, Carmina Villaroel and Aiko Melendez in one movie, earmarked for the Metro Manila Film Festival in December.

The trio did several movies together as teenagers for Regal Films. There was also the TV show that Regal produced for them, "13, 14, 15."

Ruffa was the eldest and Carmina, the youngest.

But Carmina got married first. To Rustom Padilla, now better known as BB Gandanghari.

Carmina’s marriage has been annulled and she’s now in a relationship with former Regal baby, Zoren Legaspi, father of her twins, Casey and Mavy.

Like Carmina, the marriages of both Ruffa and Aiko didn’t end up happily ever after.

It was nearly three years ago when Ruffa called it quits with Yilmaz Bektas, the father of her daughters, Lorin and Venice.

When Aiko’s marriage to Jomari Yllana, with whom she has a son, 10-year-old Andrei, was annulled, she tried another crack at marriage. Her second, to Martin Jickain, the father of Marthena, didn’t last long either.

"But the three of us," stated Ruffa, "are all doing good in our respective careers. Kami ni Carmina are both active in showbiz. Samantalang si Aiko is now more of a public servant.

"But I guess naman, Aiko will find time to do our reunion movie.

"Ang sarap sigurong magkatrabaho kaming tatlong muli," Ruffa concluded.

Sam Milby has no idea yet what birthday gift former girlfriend, Anne Curtis, has for him.

"She bought it in Europe," said Sam. "At dahil malaki at mabigat, naisama niya sa kanyang extra luggage which will arrive soon."

Sam said he is happy that he and Anne have both moved on after their break-up. And they have remained good friends, too.

What the future will hold for them, they now leave to fate, Sam said.

Anne was in Europe for her tour with friends Raymond Gutierrez, Liz Uy and cousins, Isabelle Diaz-Daza and Georgina Wilson, when Sam marked his 25th birthday last May 23.

Because of his busy schedule (he is taping almost every day for "Only You"), he had to cancel a party which he had planned for the entertainment press.

His parents came all the way from Ohio, USA to celebrate his birthday with him.

"But I only had time to have dinner with them," relate Sam. "Kaya nga I treated them to a trip to El Nido, since my dad (who, according to Sam, is turning 75 this year) is a beach person.

"Nagkataon din that they were celebrating their wedding anniversary last May 25. Kaya parang double treat for them ‘yung pagpunta nila sa El Nido," he added.

Aside from his top-rated series, "Only You," which also has Angel Locsin and Deither Ocampo in the cast, Sam is also busy with his movie with Bea Alonzo.

"And I Love You So…" is his first team-up with Bea. They appeared together in the movie "Close to You," but John Lloyd Cruz was Bea’s leading man there.

"Bea is doing many ‘firsts’ in this movie," said Sam. "She will don a two-piece bathing suit, which Bea said she has never done yet in any of her movies nor in a pictorial.

"We also have an intimate bed scene."

"Kaya sabi ko kay Bea, I feel so privileged. And I really am."

Asked how he felt about report that Bea is in the much-talked about Hayden sex videos, he quickly replied: "I never believed that. Bea is a very reserved and pleasant lady. Kaya naniwala kaagad ako sa sinabi niyang ‘di totoo ang balita."

"And I Love You So…" is directed by Lauren Dyogi.
