A recent exhibit held at the Greenbelt 3
lobby gave a preview of the various pieces to look out for
once Lila Almario’s boutique opens at Greenbelt 5.
Almario is the granddaughter of the founder
of Gregg Shoes, one of the respected designers in the
Philippine fashion industry. Aside from designing bags and
shoes for special occasions, she also retails her products by
exporting them to several countries abroad.
Aside from Almario’s collection, the
exhibit showcases pieces from other local designers like
Patrice Ramos-Diaz, Randy Ortiz, Jojie Lloren, Dennis Lustico,
Joey Samson, Ivarluski Aseron, Jun Escario, Vic Barba, Lulu
Tan-Gan, and Michi Calica in conjunction with accessory brands
and designers Amina Aranaz, Emie Jorge, Ana Rocha and Arnel
Papa.
Her inspiration behind her designs is the
customer. "I really look into the changing lifestyles of the
Filipino shopper. This is why you’ll notice that my collection
is rather eclectic, instead of creating pieces with one
centralized or common theme," said Almario.
For this season she offers bags and shoes
with darker solid colors at reasonable prices. Highlights of
the event were the well-crafted stiletto-shaped and bag-shaped
racks where Lila’s shoes and bags were displayed respectively.
The racks were made out of wrought-iron and spray painted to
add shimmer. The forefoot of the stiletto-shaped shoe racks
served as a couch or sitting lounge where potential customers
may try the shoes.
Her daughter Marielle was present during
the affair "Just for those stiletto-shaped racks alone, my mom
has been extremely excited and doing loads of planning since
late January," she said.
French artist Moise kept the guests
entertained with his songs.
Francisca Gregorio, Almario’s grandmother and the founder
of Greg’s shoes; designer Ana Rocha; Rowena Tomeldan, Ayala
Malls Group vice president and Myrna Fernandez, Ayala Center
general manager also graced the event.
