Although many of us may not belong to the government’s official family, June 12th as Independence Day is a sacred day that calls for celebration. Simultaneously that morning, the president of the Philippines and other top leaders of the land raise the Philippine flag in different areas around the country. It is an official holiday for all. Offices and schools, whether government or private, are closed for the day.
