Ballet Philippines sizzles
with Latin moves

Celebrate the long hot summer nights with "Latin Heat", Ballet Philippines’ (BP) offering this season. BP dares everyone to join them as it turns the heat to another notch as dancers perform sizzling numbers from March 14-16 at the CCP Little Theater.

Latin Heat confirms why we Filipinos are dubbed as the Latin Americans of South East Asia as BP caps its 38th season with the sensual, flamboyant rhythms of the salsa, rumba, bossa nova, reggae and Caribbean music.

Envision images of languid days at the beach as well as sultry nights embraced by passion and desire. Expect the dancers to reveal some flesh, their sinewy forms and packed bodies teasing the viewers. It promises a scorching night that lovers of dance would surely remember.

Featured choreographers are Alden Lugnasin, Jeffrey Espejo and Naomi Tolome-Jaena. BP artistic director is Bam Damian with executive director Sandy Hontiveras.

Special guest performers are the Guitar Friends Ensemble composed of guitar aficionados from various fields with Maestro Jose Valdez, professor of music and classical guitarist; Armando "Tabo" Derecho, classical guitarist and luthier; Greg Yu, businessman and sportsman; Vince Abella, entrepreneur; Jady Vitug, businessman; Dr. Diony Cruz, general surgeon; Rich Hontiveros-Griner, guitar student of the Saint Scholastica’s School of Music; Ma-An Hon-tiveros, BP President and media executive and Antonio "Tony Boy" O. Cojuangco.

Adding more steam to this Latin extravaganza is Salsa Manila headed by Christine Hipe.
