Glimpses of KC in and
out of celebrity world

IT WOULD be such an awe to capture just a moment of her youth filled with so much zest, dynamism, and passion to excel in many things she puts her heart into. Nothing seems to stop her from wanting to make the most of her potentials in every venture she takes— performing arts, modeling, acting, and even social advocacy.

After finishing her studies in Paris where she had to work and live all by herself while somewhat enjoying a non-celebrity life, she returned to Manila, all grown up and more than ready to face the limelight. Last year, she impressed viewers with her very first TV special that documented her life, experiences, and explorations in the City of Lights, the most romantic place on earth, where she stayed for four years to complete a course in International Communications.

Just last month, we saw her tackle a dramatic role in a TV soap opera convincingly, which marked her acting debut on television. And her performance was such a revelation that everybody is now looking forward to her first big screen project.

Another interesting news about this young lass involved a more serious role outside showbiz. She was recently named National Ambassador against Hunger of the World Food Program (WFP) of the United Nations, after passing a three-month screening process and getting the nod of three offices – Rome, Vatican, and Thailand. Her first work as UN Ambassador of WFP brought her to Pikit, South Cotabato where she took part in a feeding program that benefited 16,000 children in 277 schools and day care centers.

Those were just some of the meaningful and colorful episodes in the life of showbiz royalty KC Concepcion. She speaks fondly of her many passions apart from posing in front of the cameras and engaging herself in charitable works.

While most people are now aware of KC’s famous blogging as one of her favorite hobbies, very few probably know that she’s also into photography. She just wouldn’t want to miss taking pictures of the everyday happenings in her life which she shares with loved ones, friends, and even fans, here and abroad. Interesting snapshots spruce up her blogs as seen on her well-visited multiply site she created to keep in touch with her cousins.

And when we dared to ask this bubbly lady about the things she loves most to shoot, KC replied with a big infectious smile, "People! I love behind the scenes." Then she gamely started clicking her Sony Cybershot, taking shots of the media people surrounding her at the Sony Expo 2008 Press Launch held recently at Megatrade 1 in Megamall. KC has trusted the brand name even before she started endorsing the gadget in 2006, while in Paris, and finding time to fly home to catch up with family and friends.

Now that she’s settled here and bent on making her own mark in the local showbiz industry, KC maintains her active lifestyle and strives harder to prove and improve herself with every good break that comes her way. As she marks summer season with style and sophistication, showcasing the latest features of Sony Cybershot, she also shares her thoughts on how important to be tech-savvy at this age.

"It is very important because you can do anything online and enhance everything creatively. It simply adds color and spice to life," attested KC who also churns short music videos on the side. This also speaks of how she feels about having a digital camera in tow. As she pointed out, "It is not just about the pictures. It is about the moments."

What she just raves about Cybershot is its flawless design in terms of weight and size. She is simply impressed by its revolutionary Smile Shutter feature that allows the camera to click only when the subject smiles. "A true mixture of both fun and function," as KC described it.

Perhaps, no one comes close to the ideal and regal stature of the beautiful, witty, and versatile KC hailed as one of the industry’s "hottest properties" today. With her string of endorsements that lets her grace major billboards and magazine covers everywhere, it didn’t take long for KC to be tagged as the country’s top young celebrity endorser, even acing proud mom Sharon Cuneta who lands only second to KC in the rank of leading product endorsers in the Philippines.

When asked how she wants to influence consumers positively with the products she promotes, KC answered, "I treat each one (product) personally. It must be something that I love and believe in. I use the products myself. And I endorse them not just for the name."

With showbiz blood running in her veins, KC also gamely replied to even the most intriguing questions of the press who are keen on knowing the real score between this ABS-CBN’s newest princess and GMA-7’s top talent Richard Gutierrez.

"You just ask him," was KC’s brief reply when probed if Richard is indeed courting her. She admitted though, receiving a bouquet of long stemmed-roses, her favorite flowers, from the young actor on Valentine’s Day.

KC also expressed excitement about doing a movie after getting raves for her first acting project on TV, along with the possibility of being paired with Richard on the big screen.

While she welcomes more opportunities to make a name in the celebrity world, KC continues to live out her mission of making a difference in the lives of children who die of hunger each day. In the coming months, she will be busy traveling within and outside the Philippines to raise awareness about fighting hunger, as she joins other WFP celebrity endorsers like American movie star Drew Barrymore and Indonesian television and film actor Luna Maya.
