Correction, please

This is to correct three errors in the news item titled "NMLC to provide RoRo service in Aurora."

First, the title "NMLC to provide RoRo service in Aurora" is inaccurate and misleading because it gives the impression that NMLC is engaged in RoRo transport operation. The NMLC is a financial leasing company which acquires RoRo vessels to be leased to qualified operators.

Second, the phrase in the first paragraph which states that "NDC Maritime Leasing Corp. (NMLC) has entered an agreement with the province of Aurora for a RoRo service" is wrong. What NMLC signed with the Northeastern Luzon Pacific Coastal Service Inc. (NLPCSI) is a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The MOU was for NMLC to provide technical assistance to NLPCSI in the conduct of the development study.

Third, the phrase in the second paragraph, "NMLC, 100 percent owned by the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP)" is also wrong. NMLC is 100 percent wholly owned subsidiary of the National Development Company. - ANTONIO D. IGCALINOS, NMLC Corporate Communications Officer
