Gantimpala
summer workshop
Gantimpala Theater invites budding thespians
to its Acting in Musical Theater for Teens and Adults workshop.
It is a course where singing, movement and acting classes are
combined to prepare participants for musical theater
productions.
Gantimpala Theater is devoted to producing
curriculum-oriented productions such as Ibong Adarna, Florante at Laura, Kanser
(Noli Me Tangere), and El Filibusterismo; staging of literary and theatrical
works by National Artists for literature and theater; popular English classics,
revivals of contemporary dramas, and special events.
"I always tell participants that the seminars involving
acting, singing and dancing are beginnings of a bigger world where one
continuously educates himself. It is the pursuit of a lifelong passion for
creativity, excellence and sharing one’s talents with co-artists as well as a
discerning audience. I guarantee you that this workshop would be the beginning
of your love affair with the theater," says artistic director Tony Espejo.
Gantimpala Theater’s Acting in Musical Theater for Teens and
Young Adults will be held from 1-5 p.m. from April 14 to May 18. Classes will be
held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Instructors for this year’s workshop
are Roeder Camañag and Nazer Salcedo. A musical recital will be the culminating
production of the workshop.
Registration begins on March 24 at the Gantimpala Theater office at the
second floor, open-air auditorium building, Luneta. For more information, call
