Briana blends sexiness, dance talent and acting skill

FILLED with adrenaline-pumping choreography, "Step Up 2" features a non-stop dance extravaganza and never-before-seen dance moves both on the floor and on the streets. With today’s top hit songs like "Low" (by Flo Rida/T-Pain), "Hypnotized" (by Akon/Plies), "Is It You" (by Cassie), "Can’t Help but Wait" (by Trey Songz/Plies) and "Push" (by Enrique Iglesias). Starring real-life dancer Briana Evigan, the film is the much anticipated sequel to the worldwide box office hit "Step Up."

"Step Up 2" tells the story of a rebellious street dancer named Andie. When she lands at the elite Maryland School of the Arts, she finds herself fighting to fit in while trying also to hold on to her old life. She may show a great promise as a dancer, but she just can’t seem to let go of her old life and get a fresh start. With Baltimore’s hottest underground dance contest looming on the horizon, Andie joins forces with top dancer Chase while simultaneously helping to sharpen the skills of her outcast classmates. If Andie, Chase and their talented team of dancers can earn the top slot at The Streets, they can ultimately find a way to live Andie’s dream while building a bridge between her two separate worlds.

Trained at the age of 9, Evigan confesses that dancing comes naturally for her. She learned quickly various classical and street dances like hip-hop, salsa, African, ballet and jazz. In "Step Up 2," she shows not only her extraordinary dance talent but also acting skills coupled with sexiness and cinematic appeal. She adds: "I wanted to leave a mark right away in my first film that’s why I did everything to give audiences what no other dance actress have done before."

Asked about her co-star Robert Hoffman, Briana answers: "I had a great chemistry with him during our dance numbers and even in the kissing scenes. He’s a very nice guy and very talented and very cool. We absolutely clicked. I hope to work with him again." And speaking of the filmmakers, she adds: "I think the editors and John Chu did an unbelievable job of surpassing the achievement of the first ‘Step Up.’ Audiences can expect an extremely hot dance movie."

"Step Up 2" is now showing.
