‘The project is titled “Oh, My Girl” (OMG) and Ogie will not only star in it but also do the music of the movie.’

Ogie’s new movie
is Regine’s idea

Rachel Alejandro and Dingdong Avanzado’s recent concert at the Metro Bar in Quezon City became a reunion not only for the two former lovers but also for their families.

Rachel and Dingdong, who were not only sweethearts for three years but also a well-admired and popular singing tandem, performed together again after 14 years.

"Our families were not really that close," revealed Rachel. "But obviously dahil mukhang in love na in love nga kami sa isa’s isa noong mga panahong iyon, well, they all thought we would end up together."

"Sabi nga ng Mommy ko," she added, "when Dingdong and I broke up, ‘I thought he was the guy you would want to marry.’"

In any case, Rachel’s mom, Myrna, who now resides with her second husband and Rachel’s three half-sisters abroad, was at the concert. So was Rachel’s stepdad, Dave Demauro, a millionaire real estate developer.

Rachel’s dad, Hajji Alejandro, dubbed in his time as "Kilabot ng mga Kolehiyala," was in the audience, too. He occupied a table close to daughter Barni, Rachel’s sister, and nephew Niño Alejandro, a musician who is the son of Hajji’s only brother.

Ali Alejandro, Hajji’s son with the late beauty queen Rio Diaz, played the drums for half-sister Rachel during the concert.

A UP graduate, Ali, like Hajji and Rachel, is a professional musician. He is a drummer for two bands.

Rachel’s boyfriend, Phillip Palma, watched the concert, too.

Dingdong’s wife, Jessa Zaragoza, herself a singer, was not at the concert. But present was her brother, Lloyd Zaragoza, a singer and part-time actor.

His mom, former Oton Mayor Carina Flores, came all the way from Iloilo with Dingdong’s grandmother and aunt.

"Ang tagal na rin kasi mula ng mag-perform ako before a big crowd and with Rachel pa. Kaya alam kong nakakapanibago ito ‘di lang sa akin, kung hindi sa pamilya ko rin," Dingdong said.

During the concert, Rachel and Dingdong were in their element.

Did we hear it right that "Music and Lyrics," the title of the concert, will have a repeat at the Music Museum, but this time, Rachel and Dingdong will be with Donna and Geneva Cruz?

Ogie Alcasid reveals that girlfriend Regine Velasquez’ favorite pastime these days is thinking of concepts for movies or TV series. He is the one whom Regine usually assigns to put the concept on paper.

"Ang mga ideas niya are new and very now. One of them is the movie which Regal Entertainment is producing with me and Judy Ann (Santos) in the lead role.

"Ako ang nagpakita ng concept kina Mother Lily and Roselle (Teo, Mother Lily’s daughter who now heads Regal Entertainment). They both liked it," relates Ogie,

The project is titled "Oh, My Girl" (OMG) and Ogie will not only star in it but also do the music of the movie.

"We have a them song for ‘Oh, My Girl’ na ang sumulat ng lyrics ay si Roselle. She assigned me to do the music," he says.

Ogie says Regine has another concept which she herself presented to Vic del Rosario, the head of Viva Films.

She wants to star in the movie with a still undisclosed actor for a leading man.

"If ever na matuloy ito I promised Regine I will write the movie theme song which everyone will consider my best ever," shares Ogie.

In his 83rd birthday celebration last Sunday, March 8, former Senator Ramon Revilla announced that he was donating a half-hectare of prime land to the province of Cavite.

"He learned kasi na may fund na ang Cavite para magpatayo ng public hospital. Ang wala ay loteng pagtatayuan nito," said his son, Senator Bong Revilla. "Daddy said God has been so kind to him and his family. It’s high time that he gives back."
