'Jean and Polo shot a love scene and they were
teased by the people on the set who said they were "give na give" in
what they were doing.' |
Polo, Jean go all-out in love
scene
A T THE presscon of
Robin Padilla and Ai Ai de las Alas' first team-up, "Ikaw Pa Rin, Bongga Ka,
Boy," most writers asked them about their love scene but Robin demurred. "Tumawag
love scenes. Unang-una, hindi pa namin ito nakukunan and our
"Kasi, we're
trying to impart the right family values sa movie.
Ai-Ai is Dr. Baby Holmes, a veterinarian whose clinic is
named Wanna Vet. She's been living in with Allen Dizon for 15 years but he
hasn't touched her at all and treats her more like his personal alalay
who takes care of his own pet dogs. She finally realizes that he's just taking
advantage of her and dumps him. Lonely and worried she might not beget a child
anymore, she meets Boy (Robin), a fireman who's a hero in his community as
everyone runs to him for help. He has a child whose mother dumped him and ran
away with a foreigner. Once, in a restaurant, Boy chokes while eating and Ai Ai
saves his life. In return, Boy tells Baby he'll give her anything she asks for
and she asks him to sire a child with her. That's where their love story begins.
Have they dated each other after shooting? "No," says Robin.
"Si Ai Ai, maingay lang 'yan sa ibang tao, pero sa set,
dalagang Pilipina 'yan. Akala ko nga, wild siya, hindi pala. Nasa isang
tabi lang, hindi nagsasalita. Si Direk Wenn ang nai-date ko na.
Nanood kami ng '10,000 BC' at pareho naming hindi nagustuhan. Nag-guest
na ako sa kanilang TV show noon ni Ai na 'Tanging Ina,'
pero ilang sequences lang ako. This time, movie ang ginagawa namin
at saludo ako dahil he does his homework.
drama kaya I believe itong 'Ikaw Pa Rin, Bongga Ka, Boy'

Is Kim Chui bothered when some people say nothing is
happening to her career now? "No, kasi hindi naman po totoo," she says.
"I'm really thankful nga at inaalagaan ako ng ABS. Right after winning
sa 'PBB Teen Edition,' they gave me and Gerald Anderson our own soap right
away, 'Sana Maulit Muli,' that rated very well and is now being shown in Taiwan.
Tapos, sinali rin ako sa 'ASAP' and I did two movies, 'First Day High'
and 'I've Fallen for You.' I also recorded my own album. Ilang beses din
akong na-feature sa 'Love Spell,' last nga 'yung 'Cindy Rella'.
Now, I'm doing 'Maligno' with Claudine Barretto. Magko-complain pa ba
ako?"
At the launching of Dream Big Kapamilya's "PBB Teen Edition
Plus" and "Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2," it was announced that Kim will next do
the Tagalog version of the "Koreanovela," "My Girl," and she shed tears of joy
when she learned about it.
"Ang saya naman!" she exclaims. "Totoo ba ito o
joke lang?"
Winning in PBB really changed Kim's life for the better. "I
earning on my own."
Is it true she and her ka-love team, Gerald Anderson,
have broken up because he is now wooing Empress Schuck? "How can we break up,
never namang naging kami?"
What would she feel if the rumor that Gerald and Empress are
now an item were true? "I'm sure 'yung fans ng 'Kimerald' love
team namin will feel sad. Pero ako, okay lang, kung saan masaya
si Gerald, siempre, masaya na rin ako for him. Kasi, kung magiging
kami naman talaga, 'di kami. Kung hindi naman, kahit anong pilit,
talagang hindi."
Gerald turned 19 on March 7. What was her present? "A
wakeboard kasi 'yun ang kinalolokohan niyang sport ngayon."
The new "PBB Teen Edition Plus" will have its premier on
March 16, 9:45 p.m. after "That's My Doc," then the 12 new housemates will be
introduced on Easter Sunday, with Toni Gonzaga, Bianca Gonzales, Mariel
Rodriguez plus Luis Manzano as hosts. The "Pinoy Dream Academy" will start on
May 2 with Ryan Cayabyab as the new headmaster, replacing Jim Paredes.

It is not surprising that Richard Gutierrez is grinning
widely these days. After he got the outstanding performance award at the Kodak
Theatre in L.A. last Saturday, he came home and was greeted with the news that
his movie "My Best Friend's Girlfriend" is on an extended run in many theaters.
"Imagine, one month na siyang palabas sa mga sinehan and both Regal and
GMA Films told me it has earned P150 million during its entire run," he says. "Wala
raw padding 'yun, huh. At kung susuwertihin, baka ma-extend pa raw
for another week, so I'd really like to thank all the viewers who watched
it."
Meantime, his "Kamandag" on "GMA Telebabad" continues to soar
in the ratings. Richard as Vergel or Kamandag saves the child Boyong (Francis
Magundayao), the son of Ragona (Sunshine Dizon), but he sees Lily (Maxene
Magalona) being punished in Ambugraw as she's now also a slave of the Ambogs. He
defends Lily from her tormentors and he is considered by the slaves as their
messiah. He fights the henchmen of Haring Gulag (Zoren Legaspi) and they were
amazed at how good he is in using the "sepulkra" as his weapon. Haring
Dinggol (Benjie Paras) helps Vergel in his fight against Gulag. Reyna Kuran
(Francine Prieto) plots against Boyong and abducts the boy. Vergel tries to save
him again but Kuran has already killed him and tells Ragona it's Vergel who did
it. But under Vergel's care, the wounds of Boyong miraculously heal and he gets
revived. As for Jenny (Jewel Mische), she continues to be the captive of Lucero
(Mark Anthony Fernandez).
More interesting plot twists will happen, with Karylle now
also joining the show.

Expect Jean Garcia and Polo Ravales to be linked with each
other all the more now that they have started shooting "Love Is All That
Matters" for Regal Entertainment, directed by Don Cuaresma. They're one of the
four pairs featured, the others being Yasmien Kurdi-JC de Vera, Aljur Abrenica-Kris
Bernal, and John Prats-Ehra Madrigal.
At the movie's first shooting day last Thursday, Jean and
Polo shot a love scene and they were teased by the people on the set who said
they were "give na give" in what they were doing and it looked like they
were really enjoying it and doing the real thing.
"Grabe, umpisa pa lang, may intriga na," says Jean. "Mukhang
The truth is
It's all in a day's
work lang talaga."

Is there sibling rivalry between half brothers Gabby
Eigenmann and Sid Lucero, sons of Mark Gil?
"None," says Gabby, who was a mainstay in "Marimar." "Magkapatid
kami so I'm happy for him that he's getting good feedback for his acting."
"Even if we have different moms, we're quite close to one
another," says Sid. "Kasi our dad saw to it na lumaki kami knowing
each other."
Sid's manager, Ricky Gallardo of The Manila Times, told us
the other day that Sid met an accident while taping "Kung Fu Kids" for ABS-CBN a
few days ago. He plays Krung Krung, the martial arts master of the Kung Fu Kids.
During a fight scene at the Banahaw Mountain, a stuntman fell on his leg and Sid
couldn't get up anymore.
Worried that his leg might be broken, he was rushed to the
hospital and he's now wearing a leg immobilizer to make sure that his condition
doesn't get worse. He's scheduled for an MRI as we write this. Before this, Sid
didn't use a double at all. Now, Sid won't be allowed to do his own fight scenes
and stunts for a while.
