Top story- Patrick Swayze battles cancer

Actor Patrick Swayze, 55, is undergoing a four-week cycle of chemotherapy– coupled with the experimental drug Vatalanib– to fight his recently diagnosed pancreatic cancer. "He’s doing amazing," the actor’s brother said.– People

Swayze’s doctor released an optimistic statement on the actor’s condition. "Patrick has a very limited amount of disease, and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far," Dr. George Fisher said. – OK!

The actor has cheated death at least twice before. In 1996 he was severely injured when a horse threw him to the ground while filming the movie "Letters From a Killer." He broke both legs and severed a tendon in his shoulder but fully recovered. In 2000, the actor made an emergency landing while piloting his private plane, hitting light –In Touch

John Henry "Tripp" Isenhour faces a maximum of 14 months in jail and a $1,500 fine if convicted of killing a hawk at Orlando, Florida’s Villas of Grand Cypress Golf Resort. While filming a television show, Isenhour became so enraged with the bird’s squawking that he began aiming golf balls at it, eventually hitting it. The bird died. Although the pro golfer issued an apology, he has been barred from the resort and is expected in court on charges of cruelty to animals and killing a migratory bird. – US

Emergency workers rushed to Heather Locklear’s Thousand Oaks, California, home after the actress’ psychiatrist called 911 because he believed Locklear might hurt herself. But when officials arrived, Locklear was awake and alert. – Life & Style

Samantha Morton has revealed that she was near death after suffering a stroke in 2006 as a result of a head injury. The actress said she hid her condition for 18 months for fear of how it would affect her career. – US

Lindsay Lohan is struggling to keep her finances in check. The actress has squandered much of her $15 million fortune on expensive rehab treatments, clothes, vacations, partying and bodyguards. Lohan does not have another film lined up and is currently looking for a roommate. – In Touch

For the last six weeks, Britney Spears has been essentially grounded by her father, stuck in her mansion in a desperate bid to save her life. But the troubled pop star is miserable. "I’m so bored. I hate my life," she texted a friend. – OK!

Brooke Burke has given birth to a son. It is the second child for the television personality and her fiance, actor David Charvet.– US

Jessica Simpson had a great time while performing for the troops in Kuwait. The pop singer said, "It was great to experience all that it takes to be in the military, from sleeping in the barracks to using the latrine. I had such a blast."– People
